We have too many retarded fans who cheer for the Crimson Tide. When will people realize that you can't win every single game? LSU was the #1 team in America and Alabama lost by 3 in overtime. Yes, we could have won. Yes, mistakes were made. It's part of football. Even Bryant's teams didn't play mistake-free football 100% of the time and lost some big games because of it.
No coach or coaching staff are infallible. They are only human, just like the rest of us. The sooner you realize that, the smarter you will be.
You're being too rational.

Saban's is probably the best coach in the country at recruiting defensive talent. He is not the best coach in the country at actual coaching decisions during the game. We learned that while he was at LSU. His talent at recruiting usually makes up for some of his decision making during a game. All coaches have flaws. He certainly has his, he is not a god as you gumps have made him out to be.

For the last three years, Alabama has lost four times: '10 South Carolina, '10 LSU, '10 Auburn, and '11 LSU. Only in the South Carolina game was Alabama dominated. It's alright to be pissed after losing such a crucial game, but it's important to keep perspective.
Because at this rate when Auburn beats Alabama this year yall are gonna kill that poor midget.

i'm not sure there is a "best coach". there is a top tier and saban is without a doubt firmly established in it. he is one of the best in the country at every aspect of coaching. bama will be strong as long as he is there.
it appears that miles has crept into that tier as well. he has sustained success in the toughest division of the toughest conference. the lsu fans that were upset with him over '08 and '09 have no perspective.
people spend so much time comparing coaches when really it's the whole staff. the hc doesn't execute every single aspect of a team. maybe miles' staff is slightly better than saban's this year. but i suspect that if bama and lsu played 100 times, each would win 50.

The statue has been built. the automatic door closer button in his office has been installed. Nothing to see here...move along...everything is fine.

saban does not recruit offensive talent nearly as good as defensive talent. trent richardson is the offense. he is unduly conservative and does not want to disadvantage the defense with offensive mistakes.
it was a poor decision to change field goal kickers even though the LONG kicker missed 2. the SHORT kicker had NO CHANCE to make a 50 yard field goal. NO CHANCE.

Although I don't necessarily agree with this post...I'll play devil's advocate:
Saban is a great recruiter. He has had tremendous talent throughout his tenure in AL. He has had a great record during that span and rightfully so...I could have had a great record during that same span with the talent he's had, and I don't know jack about coaching football. Houston Nutt could have even had the same if not a better record during that span..(ok..that was below the belt).
THE reason AL lost that game is because of poor decisions making by Saban. You have the best defense in the land. You have great special teams coverage. You had numerous opportunities to coffin your opponent deep in their own territory and completely flip flop the field position if your defense makes another stand, but instead you insist on trying to kick 50 + yard field goals giving your opponent great field position WHO IN TURN, makes the right call to punt and continually flip the field position by making AL start from the 15 yard line or less.
There...I said it...Now there is a huge spotlight on the elephant in the room. Saban lost that game.

We truly have some idiots in our fanbase, and you are among the worst. Anyone who would bitch about a 10-3 season in a year when you lose 9 defensive starters is a fricking moron. When will you inbreds learn that you can't win every single game?
You've got to grow up and get over this loss.

He looks worn the eff out and never looks like he's having fun on the field. I see him taking Bama to one more title game (maybe) then hanging it up.

Here is a classic quote from the always articulate Saban:
"I could give a shite about all that, excuse my French. I mean, come on. Let's talk about the game.
What year we talking about when we're not gonna play Tennessee? 2025? I'm just hoping that I can still go to the lake then. Still can walk around and go on a pontoon boat ride."
A pontoon boat ride, baby....well said, Saban...well said.

Not flaming, but I agree with this. Saban looks so stressed out and just flat out spent. He's 60 years old, and if he doesn't slow down or calm down, he might actually have a serious health problem soon, ... I don't wish this on him or anyone.

This thread is fricking GOLD!
For the past three years, LSU fans have tried their damnedest to have Miles ran off. Now because he's on pace to finish the season undefeated (his first at LSU), he's the greatest coach ever!
And because Saban lost a close game in overtime to the best LSU team he's faced at Alabama, he's suddenly in over his head. Let's bring Mike Shula back!
If Saban beats LSU next year, the roles will be reversed because this will be a never-ending process.
Some of you people should've never left The Strip Saturday night.
