You joined the Confederacy in February. We didn't join until June. You had 2 governments. We tried to secede multiple times from the Confederacy. You had a ton of skirmishes between pro-Union and pro-Confederate forces. We had the biggest Civil Uprising against the Confederacy of the entire war and Lincoln considered East, Tennessee the freest place in the entire Union to speak about the abolition of slavery. You're not Deep South but neither is Tennessee or Kentucky. You're not Upper South in geography but in terms of culture you're close enough.
What the hell? You are just full of fake news. Tennessee never tried to secede from the Confederacy. It couldn’t have because the damn Yankees overran our state early in the war. We spent the remainder of the war trying to get it back. That’s why we are the home of the second most battles among the States. And the vast majority of Tennesseans fought for the South. East Tennessee was divided because of the mountain isolation and new comers to the State. But over 80% of Tennesseans proudly fought for the South. And every Southern State except South Carolina produced some Union soldiers.

I'll say it again: We never should've turned down the Jr membership offer from the Big 10.

Mizzou needs to stay in the SEC because they help Kentucky’s win total so much in football.

You know how many millions you would've lost?
Did you see how well Big 10 membership worked our for Nebraska? You know how hard it is for them to recruit Texas now?

I would agree if it got you to:
Multiple 10 win+ seasons
A division title
A new years bowl.

Yes. That's why The University Of Missouri Columbia declined the B1G Jr partnership offer when presented.

I don’t really think Delaney cares about benefitting the Big Ten. He cares about benefitting his wallet. And that’s exactly what he’s doing. Notre Dame will never join a conference. One day it may cost them a playoff berth who knows for sure? And no, The Big Ten should not have gone “all in” for Missouri. Are they Texas or Oklahoma? So what is the point? Maryland and Rutgers have academics.

Nebraska has usually been getting kids from the West Coast. The Texas recruiting days were dwindling even when they were in the Big XII. The fact that they fired a couple of pretty good coaches in the past (Frank Solich and Bo Pellini) has caused a major downturn in their program. Perhaps Scott Frost will turn it around but it will be awhile
