Hey, I got a serious question here, to which I would love a serious response from a knowledgeable Tide fan (I know -- I'm asking for a lot). It has to do with the whole "corndog" reference.
I grew up in Baton Rouge, went to LSU games my entire life, and am an LSU (and Tiger Band) alum. Then, moved away to New York City, and then grad school out west. During the time I've been gone from BTR, and fairly recently, the Alabama fans (and I think Auburn as well) started throwing the "Corndog" thing out there. I don't really get it. I mean, I COULD see, if you all were trying to come up with *something* to call LSU fans, making reference to something Cajun or Creole, like, I don't know, Swamp Rats, perhaps. But "corn dogs" -- I scratch my head at that attempt every time I read or hear it -- and I am not stupid, or at least, I have bachelors, masters, doctorate degrees that says so. ;)

About as much sense as us being called "Gumps". Forrest was an All American at Bama, an American war hero, single handendly foiled Watergate, a leader in the persuit of racial equality, and a multi millionare. Yet we're called Gumps as an insult. It doesn't make any sense, but we didn't get a say in what y'all call us, so oh well. Same with y'all and "Corndogs", or A&M with "Aggy".

I guess we have different definitions of mediocre.
LSU - where prior to Saban, mediocre was considered good. Now after Saban, good is considered mediocre.
