I'd be shocked. Zach still has three years of eligibility AFTER this year. He's only play away from being the starting QB on a title contending team. He ain't going anywhere.

Not sure he's going to be willing to pin his career hopes on King getting injured.

Calzada graduates in December. He's going nowhere until then

He doesn't have to. Like I said, he's got three years left. He could graduate with two years left. Even if King doesn't get hurt, he's got time.

I hear you - but I think that’s an inaccurate assumption. In the past he has used QB’s legs. Jameis wasn’t a pure pocket passer under Jimbo.

King is a better runner than Mond. Jimbo has only had Mond at A&M. So for me it remains to be seen…

I didn't realize he was finishing early. Sounds like he'll end of transferring with an A&M degree and three years left to play! That's crazy.

Calzada loves A&M. And I expect him to play at some time this year - King will take some hits

Also, the talent around Mac could not be matched, as you noted. We are getting there, but we ain’t there yet.

Jimbo has the offense balanced. He certainly doesn't have to reinvent the wheel. I think Jimbo has to get the ball down the field more through the air. If King is that guy, fine.

When you talk about QBs legs, the guy better also be built like Mond for durability. He often took a beating running the ball and kept getting up. As a 4 year starter that's a gift in itself in the SEC. How broad are King's shoulders?

He’s pretty thin. That’s not lost on us, it’s a concern. He just has to be smart about not taking hits. It is possible, if you’re taught to do it right.

Agreed on Mond, dude could take a hit. I was never a big fan, but the kid was tough as shite.

Ah. I was not aware of that. Still, with King in front and Stowers and Weigman on the roster in '22, I could see him bouncing then. Connor looks like an absolute freak.

Jameis Winston only had like 250 total rushing yards in two seasons as a starter. Only like a 2 YPA average.

For comparison, Andrew Luck ran for like 950 yards in three seasons as a starter and averaged something like 5.9 YPA.

Jimbo's offense is predicated more on controlling the LOS, running the ball with the backs, and throwing off of play action. He isn't going to spread a defense out and use a quarterback's legs to get yards.

A true pro style quarterback is a much better fit for this style of offense but I understand going with King if Jimbo is wary of the offensive line.

Great info guys. Should be interesting to see how it plays out. Beat Bama and he’s in the Heisman mix instantly.

I don't think you know Fisher's offense that well. Our recruits the last few years

Calzada - more athletic than you think
King - dual threat, and Fisher wanted this kid badly
Stowers - so athletic he is probably going to be great TE/WR
Weigman - two sport star athlete

I see a pattern here ... I loved and hated Mond depending on the play, but his unwillingness to throw downfield was a crutch. You will see some changes in the offense this year

Okay?

I literally said Jimbo likes to recruit dual threat guys but they aren't the best fit for his system.

It was a common complaint among Florida State fans in the last days.

Yep, that makes the most sense.

Fisher's system is multiple. We will run a bunch of two TE sets this year as well, which should help with the running game and a new OL.

King is 200 lbs. Mond is 213. Both are 6'3

No doubt but that doesn't change the fact that his offense doesn't necessarily utilize dual threat quarterbacks the best.

Its baffling that he seems to prefer that type of quarterback, Les Miles did it quite a bit too.
