Then you looked at two different data points and said……takes more than one data point to sell this guy….except I imagine you were all smug when you said it. Like you weren’t in the slow class in high school

It’s pretty obvious they haven’t left. Top 25 viewership and 80k plus attendance
Have you ever been to Nebraska? Outside of Omaha and Lincoln there isn’t another city with even 65,000 people. There is not a hell of a lot to do in most of Nebraska other than enjoy the outdoors and watch sports. But there are zero pro teams and only two major colleges, Creighton and Nebraska, in Nebraska. So for football in Nebraska, the University of Nebraska is the only game in town.
Sure there is still lots of support in Nebraska for Cornhusker football. But Nebraska used to be a national brand. They no longer are. That is a perfect example of an eroding fanbase due to lack of success.

Having nothing to do doesn’t change the fact that the fan support is definitely still there. It just is. It’s obvious to anyone with a brain. Of course things wane but they have been bad since Callahan. No post season since 16. But still too 25 viewerships and over 80k in tickets sold. Pretending like the fans aren’t there is just stupid

I never said they have no fans. I pointed out their decline.
You are just making shite up.

2 data points means the same stat at 2 different times. Not just 2 different stats at the same time.

Meaning, in order to see an increase or decline, you have to compare those stats to what they were in the past.
I'm just going to start ignoring you if this is your best.

And when a team does it for many years in a row, or lacks success many years in a row, it's going to take those programs down as fans will be less interested etc.…….
Is that you? Bc it’s been many years. Many bad years for husker football. And if taking a fan base down is having top 25 viewership and attendance then you’re certainly wrong. If I were you would I would ignore this whole thing as well. You seem dumb

I was bored with all the haters in the Big12 and look forward to a new group of haters in the SEC (that have richer traditions, a bonus). My only regret is that CBS will no longer be doing those epic Saturday afternoon SEC games – those were glorious. I don’t have enough technical background to explain why they were so much better than other networks' game broadcasts, but I think it was because CBS had more HD cameras, more mics in the stands and superior directing. I was really looking forward to seeing Texas on some of those broadcasts, dang it.

I think a lot of people grew up believing that Southeastern Conference meant just that, teams from the southeast. Texas and TAM are in the southwest. Missouri is in the midwest. There were teams in the southeast, or at least more southeast than Missouri and Texas, that would have been solid additions while maintaining the integrity of the league. FSU, Clemson, UNC, and NC State would have been made more sense from a cultural and geographic point of view.
At this point the SEC and Big 10 just need to rename themselves Super Conference One and Super Conference Two. Or Death Star One and Two would work too.
You've obviously never been to Chapel Hill. It is vastly different than Athens or Tuscaloosa or Knoxville.

For academic reasons sure....but for sports the B1G is boring as frick. I'm thrilled to be in the SEC.

quote:the haters in the Big12 were pretty lame, and the fact some second tier coach could save their job with a win over Texas never set right with me. I will also miss CBS, and while this may not be a popular opinion, Fox as well. It seems CBS went all out for their SEC games while ESPN has the talent (both on air and technical) spread way too thin trying to cover way too many games.

You seem to be having a different argument than we are. No one is saying there aren’t Nebraska fans. No one is saying they aren’t a major draw in Nebraska. But they are not relevant on a national level like they were during the 90s and before. And they have less fans now than then too. I am not sure why you want to keep arguing this.
Two things can be possible at the same time. For instance, you can say that Nebraska has a lot of fans in Nebraska. You can also say that Nebraska has less fans than they used to. Both can be true at the same time.

Tell me you've never been burned, cheated, extorted, & lied to by a former business partner without telling me you've never been burned, cheated, extorted, & lied to by a former business partner.
Texas is direct cause of all the problems in the SWC & what's left of the BIGXII. We dealt with them in good faith, and crapped on every body back then. Greedy disingenuous pricks..you will find out.
We & aTm we're thrilled to be offered and we jumped on it. We do offer solid TV markets..and decent recruiting grounds..our other sports haven't caught up or recovered from the protests of 2015 til now...but that's another story..
I fear , you will see a day in the not so distant future where you will regret admitting texa$$...

What did Texas ever do to Missouri?

Not a damn thing
Missouri did chase bigger paycheck (which they got) blaming big bad Texas all along.

That may be so, but the SEC is the lone power conference that makes any geographical sense in 2024. I mean nobody questions LSU being in the Southeast, but it's closer geographically for most Texans vs anyone in Georgia or South Carolina.

Chapel Hill and Durham are vastly different than most other parts of North Carolina. I have been to about 35 of the states and North Carolina is very similar to Alabama. There are a few Appalachian mountain folks, you got the coastal folks, you have the “we live in (insert whatever uppity urbanish suburban area you want)” people, and then you have all the normal people in the middle of the state. People in Chapel Hill aren’t a whole lot different than the hipsters that live around UAB in Birmingham. But neither group represents the state they live in as much as they want you to believe that.

I mean you can take a map and color all the SEC states in red and it makes far more sense than doing the same with the ACC and especially B1G.
