I never thought I would see the day when a 2 loss Ole Miss would be ranked ahead of a 2 loss Ohio State or a 1 loss Notre Dame. Not only that, but a 2 loss Ole Miss is ranked ahead of 2 loss teams from the SEC like Tennessee and LSU. That logo seems to be worth something. I guess we are just different.

They seem to finally be respecting SoS. This is why we have a 24 team playoff on the way.

The Big 10 is a joke this season and Oregon shouldn't be anywhere on this list.

In some cases, then in some cases they respect head to head, then in some cases they respect quality of loss, then in some cases they respect quality of win, then in some cases they respect margin on victory and in some case they respect margin of loss, in some cases they respect strength of record, then in some cases it looks like they respect injuries and in some cases they do not, then in some cases i cant figure out what they are respecting to justify a team's spot

Yes, but Indiana has also proven that you can have zero quality wins and only play creampuffs out of conference and be ranked in the top 5.

I agree its strange. If you look at the top 12 and analyze it, its clear views is making an impact. Anyone denying is lying.

I think they are respecting the coaches ability to win.

They are a foot step in bounds away from being undefeated and clearly are outmanned in almost every game.

Thats a good coach. They find a way to win.

Well, Ole Miss is rightly ranked ahead of LSU since they won the head-to-head.

Ole Miss will drop of course, if they lose to UGA and if LSU beats Alabama, they will jump inside the Top 10.

The committee is looking for any reason to snub Notre Dame. If they lose to Miami, they are toast.

As they should. ND has only played one decent team and lost. Indiana at least has the best coach in CFB and are defending Champs. ND hasnt done that in forever.

I think you are right. They have to be careful with Notre Dame because they could have no quality wins but if they are ranked in the top 12, they get in because of that new stupid rule that only applies to Notre Dame. That could cause a more deserving team to get left out.

Indiana is really the outlier.

They appeared to use SoS except for Indiana.

Who knows why that is.

it only becomes a real controversy if ND is ranked 12 and forces a team ranked higher than them out, but as you know, the committee can do what they want and they do not have to be transparent at all, so they would simply place ND at 11 or 13 depending if they want them in or out

I think #11 is a spot where it could go either way, and that's what the committee is hoping for. Either Notre Dame proves they belong by winning, or they lose and the committee will drop them down 2 or 3 more spots.

After Miami, they have no games whatsoever to hang their hat on to prove they belong in the CFP.

Kinda shocked about this, thought ND would come in 4-5 so that a loss to the canes would keep them in top 12... maybe the committee is finally pushing ND to up their schedule with erryboddy else going to 9 Conference games.

Hopefully they tired of ND's shite...

ND gets in the playoffs if they are in the top 12. They had to place them this low so that if they lose to Miami, they can drop them out of the guaranteed spot.

Yeah, I hope that's the case. Play a tougher schedule moving forward or join the Big 10 or ACC in all sports including football.

Looks like they are attempting to box them in and force their hand.

The B1G is sick of Notre Dame finally.

With the SEC and B1G running everything now hopefully ND will be forced into a conference.

The SEC and B1G just allowed ND a special rule to include them in the CFP at the expense of, potentially, one of their own teams.

The backlash since they made that rule has been noticed by the new committee.

Thats my theory anyway.

I think USC dumping the game vs Notre Dame woke up the entire B1G.....college football doesn't need Notre Dame at all.

ND is now back at the table begging USC to schedule the game whenever USC wants it played.

ND thought they could force USC to play on ND schedule but then reality slapped them in the face.

Unfortunately there's no place to seriously discuss the CFP rankings.

Notre Dame has replaced them with SEC teams. Notre Dame plays 1 SEC team in 2027 (Auburn), 3 SEC teams in 2028 (Texas, Arkansas, and Auburn), two more in 2029 (Alabama, Texas), followed by at least one from 2030 - 2032.
