Is this the worst scandal the rant has seen involving a current player?

I’m just trying to remember - has there been anything even close to accessory to murder? I know he hasn’t been charged and I’m no legal expert so I won’t say he will be charged but just going by what we actually know- has any other player been this close to a murder during their tenure with a team (and it was known to the general public)?

A Florida recruit once quoted a rap lyric with the n word. They ended up booting him once everyone found out.

Miles was charged with capital murder, not accessory.

So glad they caught him and AJ Green for their vile crimes.

Honey Badger kept smoking weed and failing drug tests. Les Miles had to show him the door.

That's because there is no distinction between the two under Alabama law. And the poster was referring to Miller.

It’s the worst one I can think of involving something like this since the Baylor basketball deal

According to his coach, young Miller was simply "in the wrong place at the wrong time."

While al.com (Birmingham News) broke this story, the Birmingham tv and radio folks are doing yeoman work to minimize if not trivialize this. Miller did NOTHING wrong!!!

Jeesh....every season, some team (Auburn with Cam, LSU with Will Wade, Georgia and the hookers, Hugh Freeze and the call girls, and now Bama and the murder) who has something going good, causes all of the SecRant octagenerians to get their knickers in a twist and wring their hands. The guy who killed the young lady is gone, will be tried and if found guilty will serve time in the state penitentiary. Why don't you let the DA and the judges, who have to present the cases to the grand jury and eventually get a conviction, if they think they can, do their job?
I mean we have morons like Henry von Handwringer crying out for Bama basketball to be shut down. The Arkansas crowd would have you think that not a single atrocities ever occurred in the great state of Hogdom. You people are ridiculous.
If the guy is guilty, the system will prosecute him.

Wondering the same thing. It's amazing to me that he's still on the team.

So players should never be disciplined by their coaches unless there are pending criminal charges?

Now that’s a hot take.

What the frick are you talking about? Bama players murdered or were involved in murdering a woman. This makes the other stuff look like peanuts.

We can discuss whatever we want here.

What a dumbass

Everyone thought Freeze banging hookers was just terrible.

Here we’re talking murder involving two star players. This is the worst I can think of.

And one is still on the team Gumps gonna gump.

It’s the most serious that I can think of in terms of real world consequences. A person is dead. In the NCAA world though I’m guessing there were no infractions so there’s nothing to be done lol. Darius Miles is probably wishing he was a better player and he might have gotten that get out of jail free card courtesy of Big Al. I don’t understand why Miller is needed to cooperate at all. The text messages show everything and what useful info could he offer that they don’t already have or could find on their own?
