A Nut and a Gopher (Ha!!!)? A Devil and Demon Deacon (seems like a conference of Satan Worshippers to me). A Duck and a Beaver?!? And a Sooner?!?
Those are actually all really cool mascots.

I have to say, the Razorback, the Wildcat, the Gamecock, and the Gator are cool mascots.
As for Oklahoma's Sooner Schooner, I guess they fail to realize that a Sooner was someone who cheated … they started the land rush early.
I wish reality would allow UAB get a real dragon as its mascot (where are you, George RR Martin?).

I’m gonna need you to go check OU’s infractions history and then revisit this post.

don't care for generic ones (like Tigers, Bulldogs, Wildcats
The Louisiana Tigers were infantry Troops out of Louisiana during the Civil War. They quickly became one of the South's most feared batallions earning the phrase "they fought like Tigers." LSU took that moniker and also has a live Bengal Tiger mascot. The only one in the country. It's not exactly generic.
Say it louder for the idiots in the back!

Is there any conference with mascots worse than the SEC?
FIFY. To wit:
Razorback = invasive nuisance species
Commodore = out ranked by Admirals, plus sounds a lot like "commode", plus a ridiculous nickname for a school in a landlocked state.
Gamecock = write your own porn joke
Crimson Tide = write your own menstrual joke
Aggie = write your own bestiality joke
3 tigers + 2 Bulldogs = complete lack of originality
Volunteer = on the losing side of a war
Gator: the only SEC nickname that's any good. Too bad the school sucks.

Perhaps our Tennessee brethren can help us out here. I thought the "Volunteer" was based on the group of volunteers from Tennessee who fought in the Texan War for Independence from Mexico? They may have lost the Battle of the Alamo, but I believe Texas won the actual war. Technically, they achieved their objective at the Alamo by delaying the Mexican advance in order to give General Austin time to organize.

You could say the same of almost any conference
PAC 12:
A duck: something known for an annoying noise and the way its meat tastes
A Trojan: historic dumbasses
Huskies: common house pet?
Big 12:
Cowboy: yeehaw! Terrible
Sooner schooner: outdated mode of transportation
Beck: see “duck” above
ACC:
Deacon: what?
Blue devil: what?
Tar Heel: what?
Big 10:
Wolverine: the animal, not the cool comic book character
Gopher: cousin of groundhog which is cooler
Spartan: in Michigan? Doubtful

I like schools with mascots that are relevant to the region they're located (like Sooners, Cornhuskers, Gators, Hurricanes, Longhorns, Seminoles) and don't care for generic ones (like Tigers, Bulldogs, Wildcats)
Sounds like you don't know wtf you are talking about. The state of Louisiana is the home of the Fighting Tigers. It's not generic.

Yeah a chicken is a cool mascot lol you should go to their stadium and listen to how many times they play that damn rooster crowing. If you stay after half time you will be one of the hundreds of people there
You shouldn't even get to provide input on this thread with your "cracked-out" tiger looking mascot.
