When LSU figured out that Florida was doing everything possible to not play the game, we offered to play Saturday in Gainesville.

Florida still declined.

Now you get to play a healthy Fournette. Enjoy your beat down in November.

And secondly: There were no police available, and for the foreseeable future at the time there would be none available to help with relief efforts.

Which means no fans.

I'm sorry you guys didn't get your ''free'' game, where we lose every advantage we have against LSU, but we've got our own efforts, desires and agenda and it doesn't include making it easier for LSU to take advantage of a catastrophe.

Your agenda is no more important than our own, and that's what makes your fanbase a bunch of screaming children who didn't get their way.

The SEC should have used 2005 Tennessee vs LSU as a precedent. Same exact situation. LSU played the game on Monday and the stadium was filled to capacity. The same thing could have occurred in Lossville, but you ducked us.

Pissbombs galore next year. This year? Gator fans are coordinating to spend the least amount of time and money in your little shithole of a town.

We're not going to be a welcoming fanbase that weekend.

Also, the best way to have some not go to Gainesville ever again is to have them go once.

Also, BR is a lot bigger than your little shithole.

I think the important part that is being forgotten is that on TUESDAY, Oct. 4 Joe Alleva called up Foley and said, "hey, you have a hurricane headed towards you. What do you want to do about this weekend?"
Foley: "Play the game Saturday in Gainesville."

WEDNESDAY, Oct 5.
Alleva: "Hey, Foley... about that hurricane. Do you have a contingency plan?"
Foley: "We're playing in Gainesville on Saturday. May need to push kickoff back."

Thursday, Oct. 6
Foley: Nope, can't play the game.

On Thursday after the announcement of the "postponement" Joe Alleva stated all the options he gave to Foley for trying to play the game and was making calls the Tuesday before the hurricane hit.

Also - it's Florida's home game. Why in the hell should LSU make concessions or plans that affect the rest of LSU's schedule?

Foley sat on his (in)decision and Sankey let him.

Please explain to me then why we had to play UT on Monday in 2005.

I'll wait.

Tennessee

You guys saying UF are yourselves delusional. Since 1990, UF has been in more SEC title games than any team, and won more than any team except Alabama.

edit: I looked it up, and according to Wikipedia, UF has won 7 and Alabama 6, so even better for UF than I thought.

And yet LSU has the best win% in Atlanta.

If I'm caricaturing the fanbase, let me know but our options were:

1. Play at an empty Tiger Stadium, losing homefield advantage and having to play in LSU three straight years.

2. Play at an empty neutral location, losing homefield advantage for three straight years.

Anything outside of that parameter means that we're pussies even though we're making up the game?

The hurricane was pretty strong and the SEC sided with caution,

I'm a little to this but...
LSU offered almost everything imaginable" Play on Sunday. Play on Monday.
The SEC didn't side with caution. Foley made this a Gordian Knot when none existed. Buck toothed Jeremy drew the line in the sand: Saturday in Gainesville or frick you. He didn't even consider Sunday or Monday (like USC v UGa).
The only college game cancelled or postponed in Florida or the East Coast was UF v LSU.
Sankey is weak. Foley is a douche. McIlwain can go naw on a branch to build a dam.
