Is the permanent cross division opponent fair to Tennessee?

Tennessee has to play Bama every year, which Peyton always pencils in as a loss, but is it fair for them to have to do so?

Florida controls their own destiny this year and gets a mediocre LSU every year, twice in a roll at home starting next year.

UGA gets a on average 8-5 Auburn team, sure UGA self destructs and takes themselves out of the conversation every year but it isn't the same task as being asked of Tennessee to play Bama every year.

Isn't the only logical solution to either do away with the division entirely and take the two best teams each year for the CG or to do away with the permanent cross division opponent so that teams like Tennessee and Mizzou have a fair shot at winning the east every year instead of having their hopes dashed by a guaranteed loss from the is permanent opponent being on the schedule?

Its time we make the SEC great again, fixing the above problem will help lead to the conference being represented by the one true champion instead of stacking the deck against the same teams year after year.

Is Bama being in the West fair to Arkansas, Ole Miss, MSU, LSU, Auburn, and A&M?

I believe Butch Jones is now 0-8 against the SECW so does it really matter who they play?

UT had 10 straight losses to UF. They never won the East in that time.

This year they finally beat UF, and they're going to win the East.

It's pretty clear their problem is UF, not Bama

With the east being as bad as it has been recently I actually enjoy going against Bama to have another big game on the schedule but that's just me

Tennessee is a proud program that is now trying to talk itself to the top. It will always be a national game, one which I will watch if it doesn't conflict with Carolina or Georgia.

to be fair, he's faced the top 2 west teams in every year he's coached so far (yes, I'm saying Arky was the 2nd best west team last year). Not saying the results would have much different, I was just trying to be fair to to the gigantic Hope Solo sized pussy that is Lyle Jones.

Welcome to the party pal!! LSU has been calling for doing away with permanent opponents for years but the Gumps say that the world will stop spinning if they don't play yall every year.

We always get Auburn on the years they're great and the Mississippi schools a couple of years ago were when they were great and we were horrible... We always seem to get the 2nd best team in the west plus Alabama

He will always have the best team from the West on the schedule each year, while UGA and Florida will have the 5-7th best West team each year.

This is counter-productive to Lyle winning the East any given year.

LSU and UT should just play with each other every year, they could get away from "unfair" cross div opponents and have the bromance they always wanted.

May be true, but we're not gonna bitch about our schedule being tough. It is what it is.

Yeah except for 2010, 2011, 2013 and every year from 2000-2007

Well I guess Florida really sucks since LSU has won 5 of the last 6.

Tool.

Just admit that you're scared of Missouri. It's weird that you would try to spin this idea back on UT, who I'm not sure has EVER complained about the cross-divisional thing. For all the flaws of the "Next Year" crowd, they don't bitch about the Bama game.
