I’ve literally never heard of someone who couldn’t get into LSU cause admissions

If you’re a 2.5 average student you aren’t going to LSU but you can still get in to Ole Miss. Once again I’m not trying to paint LSU as a school that’s difficult to get into (if you’re bright enough to go to college you should get into LSU) but instead that Ole Miss is a joke to get into and lots of entitled kids whose parents have money go there if they suck at school, particularly on the Gulf Coast.

Ole miss admissions for out of state aren’t much different than LSU’s in state.

No theyre still stupid easy. 40% of the Ole Miss student body is out of state and the low admissions standards are definitely a factor.

LSU wanted it yes. It was not "needed".

I knew someone would jump on that when I hit submit. Good job!

What I meant by "wanted/needed" is why would LSU want to have a "rival" that treats the game like their Super Bowl on a Friday after Thanksgiving when I know most LSU fans are dialed out.

As a whole, (fanbase/athletic dept) LSU never liked that game. Now LSU has Arky where we always wanted them, a random SEC game late in the season, but not on rivalry weekend when they can try to ruin our season and make theirs.

So you would rather have A&M, Texas' first-born son and Arkansas' red-headed step-child?

Oddly enough, if you are astute as I know you are, this thread is sort of a shot over the bow of aggy, also. They aren't much better than Arky.

Stay tuned. I just wanted closure on the Arky rivalry.

Arkansas has beaten you at least twice. Maybe three times, since you beat Alabama.

Loser.

The sheer fact that you went through the effort to create this thread proves the rivalries existence.

Yours truly. Took me all of about 10-15 minutes.

That's about 3 hours for the average Arky fan (I get it).

With O in control and Les no longer on the sidelines, the Arkansas game is the one I feel most confident about year in and year out.

I could (and may) do a similar comparison of the two programs next week.

Really? He let almost let a 2-8 team come back. A team North Texas hung 44 on. I hate this game where it is. The week after our most physical opponent of the year and a team who is always fired up to play us that we are not fired up about at all. I hate this game being where it is.

But, I have to tell you my friend, you aren't the first to use that style and I think you know it.

The other thing I would note on this topic is that the Arkansas LSU matchup is far more appealing to an unbiased person such as myself than the LSU Aggie matchup. I mean, I don't think the Aggies have ever even beat y'all.

No wonder LSU would rather play them. They frickin suck.

Day after Thanksgiving = Arkansas and LSU on CBS.

Watching that Arkansas LSU game seeing the facilities and stadium upgrades they’ve done really has me thinking if they had the right guy which Morris might be it, they could legit be the next big thing.

In the past it’s always been tough to get recruits to visit because they assume everything here is dirt road country stereotype Arkansas, but when they do the facilities and niceness of Northwest Arkansas shock them. Morris has been doing a good job just convincing guys to visit. Over the summer he brought in something like 500+ kids ranging from middle school to high school for a camp which is an unheard of number for us traditionally.

Yeah I could see how hard it can be selling Arkansas. But NWA isn’t really your typical po dunk scenery like you’d imagine. The hardest part could be getting the kids to Fayetteville. Once they’re there they’ll see it for themselves. But not being within a quick drive to a bigger city the way LSU bama a&m and Uga are could be a drawback for recruiting kids to Arkansas.

Personally, selling Fayetteville and the Arkansas program to a person like myself wouldn’t be hard. But let’s be honest, the real big name kids aren’t gonna have the same mentality as me.

They have. It's just been decades. Last time they beat LSU, there was a President from the not so great state of rKansas.

Not true. LSU would rather play aTm because they have spent about a billion dollars (no joke) on coaches and facilities since they have joined the conference and still can't beat the poor folks from LSU. It's just plain fun to beat the rich kid with no athletic ability as he brags about how much money he comes from.

Sorry man. Time to move on. Hence the point of the OP. Mizzou is your rival now.

Been a little bit closer since the "SEC" part of the rivalry started, though.

Edit: Honestly, I don't care whether it's a rivalry or not, but I do enjoy the fact that the Pigs are second only to the Aggies in their ability to get the LSU fanbase riled up, not just going into the games but all year long. Makes for more interesting threads than the continual officiating/everyone is picking on us type threads that keep dominating the Rant.
