Is the LSU/Arky forced rivalry in football finally dead?

Was Arky ever really a worthy "rival" if you compare the histories of the two programs?
All-Time Series:
LSU-40
Arky-22
All-Time Record:
LSU-.652 (795-414)
Arky-.585 (715-502)
National Championships:
LSU-3
Arky-1
SEC Championships:
LSU-15
Arky-0
***(Tulane has 3)
***(Arky has 13 from the SWC-how many SWC conference titles would it take to equal 1 SEC Title?)
Bowl Games:
LSU-49
Arky-42
Bowl Record:
LSU-.520 (25-23-1)
Arky-.393 (15-24-3)
Consensus All-Americans:
LSU-32
Arky-25
Heisman winners:
LSU-1
Arky-0
NFL Draft Picks:
LSU-335
Ark-268
1st Rd NFL Draft Picks:
LSU-41
Arky-22
Weeks in AP Poll:
LSU-612
Arky-417
Weeks at AP No.1:
LSU-30
Arky-1 (LULZ)
LSU was tired of being paired with the middle of the road program from the old SWC on rivalry weekend.
Not that the Aggies are much better. I could (and may) do a similar comparison of the two programs next week.
Is it safe to say it never was a rivalry?
I think that answer is obvious!

While fans, particularly down here in South LA, may not see it as one, it has certainly played like one since their inclusion in the SEC.
The games have gone down to the wire far more often than not (even though LSU is usually supposed to be far superior), and I have seen more extra carricular mouthing off and pushing and shoving among the players on both sides in this series than any other series except perhaps Ole Miss.
I honestly wish it was still our rivalry weekend game (though I would have preferred a Saturday spot to the Friday spot). But I’m sure A&M will grow into one with time, especially once they win a couple.

I ask the same thing about L8U and Bama.. I mean it’s been awhile since L8U has won. Kinda losing its rivalry game. I think Troy might take over for us

You have UT and Auburn. LSU and bama have never been rivals (forced or otherwise).
Now go away. This isn't about the gumps.

The rivalry is big to folks to interact with hogs fans up north. Down in south La we simply never cross paths.
Texas a&m and LSU fans across paths a lot in Houston & South La.
A lot of the rivalry has to do with the players and where they come from. A lot of LA kids who weren’t good enough for LSU end up at A&M and Arkansas so they have this chip on their shoulder when they play LSU. I’m sure there’s Texas kids who end up at LSU but it’s most likely not due to them not being good enough for A&M.
Think of the auburn Uga rivalry. Lots of Uga rejects end up at auburn so they have a major chip on their shoulder. Similar situation with Arkansas LSU. I’d bet a good portion of the hogs roster is from La

Ole Miss has always been Arkansas' natural SEC rival, IMO. But despite the fact that it was kind of manufactured, you can't deny the competitiveness and some of the classic games we've played. If you're an Arkansas or LSU fan and you don't miss our old time slot, you don't realize you've been cheated.
A&M needs to get a little payback streak against LSU for that change to be worth it. Seven in a row exchanged for what Ark/LSU had going isn't nearly as fun.

As an Alabama fan, I would like to point out that Arkansas beats lsu more than lsu beats Alabama.

They definitely forced mizzou and a&m down LSU and Arkansas throats. Neither of those series are exciting.

I hope y’all improve because it would be nice for this game to be a top 25 game with implications like it once was.

Arkansas and Missouri are historically similar, and they (like most teams) have had our number lately, so I guess I can't scoff at them. Plus, ARMOgeddon is like the best rivalry name. Hopefully we can both be worth a shite soon and it'll be exciting for everyone.
But I definitely miss playing LSU after Thanksgiving. And clearly A&M playing Texas is preferable.

we just pushed off the bottom of the pool . Grabbed another 4* (CB , New Orleans) Devin Bush last night, our 11th 4*. Gonna take awhile to talent up post Bert but this class will be the foundation.
The 20-teens are screwed, but the 2020's we will be challenging.

Yes in my opinion that forced “rivalry” battle got the boot game is officially over.
But I do think LSU - A&M will evolve into a pretty serious rivalry game for both of y’all. There will come a day in the not too distant future when LSU and A&M are playing for the SEC West title.

Good point. Idk why Saban emphasizes the LSU game so much.

If it's forced by anyone it's the LSU and Arky administrations. There's a trophy for it every year.
