Then how many conferences are you going to have & how many members?

Keep it how it is, just make em play more games.
13 Regular season and 1 OOC

Yea I know sounds stupid, but would keep from other conferences from having a 7-5 team in the title game.

This just more to the people that say an expanded playoff (which I'm not in favor of) should be all the P5 conference champs.

Say NW or Pitt pulled the upset in their games, even just one upset they have no business being in the playoff.

so if the B12 model is so terrible and it would be just impossible to beat a team twice in a year...why do you guys ever play a crossover game like LSU/Georgia this year for instance? That theoretically could have been a championship rematch.

I don't think it's terrible at all.

No the best model would be for the SEC to add 2 more teams. Have 4 divisions of 4 teams. Each division winner gets seeded 1-4. 1 plays 4, 2 plays 3 and winners play in Atlanta for the SEC title.

Imagine if all the power 5 conferences did that. December wold start out with 20 teams in a playoff for the title. By the end of the second saturday of December you would be down to 5 conference champions. #1 teams get a bye and the other 4 play. # 1 plays the lowest seeded team left with the other 2 winners playing.

Yes, well there is plenty of bitching about that if a championship game rematch becomes a possibility. As for cross rivals they really aren't even fair for some teams. LSU and Florida play every year. You ought to know back when the Big 12 had 2 divisions there must have been some cross rival rematches. Not that interested in looking it up.

Back to rematches... Bama beat LSU in regular season then lost to in NC game. Worked out well for LSU that year but not so good for Bama. Florida and Florida St had a rematch for the NC. First time lower is usually the winner 2nd time. I get these aren't "in conference" rematches but the principal of rematch and advantage to team that lost first still applies. Of course, they need to be reasonably even talent wise. Matching up the 2 best teams in the B12 almost assures an even matchup and a probably rematch because OU is likely going to be 1 of the teams.

Close. Add 2 teams, make 4 4-team pods, pair them up every 3 years, & top teams = SECCG teams.

Year 1: AB winner vrs. CD winner
Year 2: AC winner vrs. BD winner
Year 3: AD winner vrs. BC winner

I think divisions are dumb honestly. I would be fine with switching to it. Fix a certain number of permanent opponents on a team’s schedule and rotate the others more often

Thereby creating more tiebreakers to determine rankings due to lack of common opponents.

The B1G is by design. Idiocy on their part. 3 biggest names in the conference in same division. ACC made the same mistake with Clemson and FSU.

The Big 12 never had cross divisional matchups pitting the same teams every season.

That was one of Nebraska’s biggest gripes was they would no longer play Oklahoma every season.
