Yea it has serious potential. If Clemson and FSU continue on their arc you've got 2 elite teams. Then if Miami ever resurges and VT can get their shite together you're looking at 2 more solid teams. Add in Louisville as long as Strong is there and Notre Dame, and the league looks pretty legit.
The problem is the bottom tier teams will never have the passion and spend the money that those in the SEC do. The Maryland's and North Carolina's of the ACC don't give a fvck about football whereas Ole Miss and Mississippi State are dying to compete.
That's the biggest difference and why it'll never top the SEC. It can come damn close, though.

First, apparently we're not SEC.
Second, LSU had it handed to them by Clemson.
Third, Georgia got beat by Clemson.
Fourth, Florida lost to Miami.
That's 3 of the big 6 losing to ACC teams. Do I think the ACC is better top to bottom? Dunno. Want to say no but I think an argument could be made. At the very least they've closed the gap and by a lot.
