You're welcome. For not speaking German, that is. I'll take your thanks in football victories over Alabama.

Don't know what that means, but The Corps of Cadets put in more than the Naval Academy and Military Academy combined, so I'm guess that still puts you behind us. That is if counting works the same way down in the swamps. I'm not exactly sure.

LSU's military history began more than 150 years ago with the opening of the university under Superintendent and Civil War General William Tecumseh Sherman. Then called the Louisiana State Seminary of Learning and Military Academy, the university was nicknamed the "Ole War Skule." Through relocation and name changes, LSU continued to build on its military tradition while still retaining the "Ole War Skule" nickname. The university's military tradition was never more evident than during World War II when LSU boasted more officers on active duty than any other institution in the nation other than the military academies. For information about membership in the Cadets of the Ole War Skule, visit olewarskule.lsu.edu, email cadets@lsu.edu, or call 225-578-0420 or 1-866-SALUTES.

Ole War Skule

LSUs corps of cadets had more national pride and the school valued service longer than TAMUs. They also didnt fold like a cheap tent to liberal society early in the Vietnam war and make service voluntary like TAMU.

So what you're telling me, is you thought that you contributed more to World War 2 cuz your silly little website lies about it, and are mad that some fact you've boasted about LSU all these years actually belongs to Texas A&M?

Seems like y'all think Texas A&M is as reputable as a Service Academy? Because we clearly put more soldiers to the war effort.

Meh. World War 2 built us up enough equity. Sorry for bursting your bubble about LSU not putting in the most students in World War 2. I'm sure you loved spitting out that fact, but now it is ruined. I apologize for revealing the truth.

To hell w school affiliation.
I'm just damn grateful for all who've served--whether they be one of 5 or 5,000 from their alma mater.
Now back to Coach Sumlin's personal life....

Either way, this conversation went from talking about extravagant Texas A&M was to something completely different. I pay my respects daily.

That's a fair trade. You can edit your post now to reveal the truth whenever you feel like it. Or just point out the error in this statement:

The Ole War Skule put more officers in WWII than any school outside of the military academies. Mandatory ROTC till 1969.

The only evidence you have to the contrary is a statement that says LSU was equal to A&M and the military academies. My from lsu.edu is fact until proven otherwise by hard and fast numbers.

From LSU's website A&M put in like 3 or 4 times as many as LSU according to out website. I'm sure if you researched actual numbers it would burst your bubble. You seem like you take yourself way too seriously, so I'm just gonna bow out of this one with a smug look of victory.

You really think I care that much? This was a conversation about A&M and their impending implosion that became about big Bro owning little bro. Then you tried to make excuses. I showed that those excuses might matter if you were comparing to say cal berkley, but have no merit as compared to LSU as LSU has a very strong and more longstanding commitment to service just as A&M.

Enjoy the 90s. Hope you have some fond memories. Things are back to the way they have been and always will be. A&M has been weighed, they have been measured, they have been found wanting. Both past and present A&M is the inferior program both in the series and on a national level. You can try to guilt other programs bout military service but that dont work here.

Here's hoping the future plays out differently.

(for the record ... "guilt" & "military service" don't belong in the same sentence. Lifting my glass to all LSU vets/active duty service members)
