Don't get met wrong. I love Oxford. It seems to be the exception to the rule. Usually the better college towns have larger populations that 20,000. That being said, I wouldn't use Jackson as an example of a "larger college town". Mississippi College, Belhaven, Jackson State, etc. aren't exactly major universities.

Laugh all you want, but that wasn't unusual. Of course, I graduated from Alabama in 2006. That might not be the case now, if Starkville has changed as much as people suggest it has. I was last there in November of 2005.
