He’s listed as “athlete” on their site.

And apparently plays on their baseball team
I don’t follow college baseball, are they good?

BMac had the competitive spirit of a salted slug but good on him for at least choosing a good education to get out of football, cuz he wasn’t exactly lighting the diamond up either.

My mistake, but still we traded out the Melvin Ingrams, Gilmores, Swearingers et al for the likes of... wait for it... Chaz Elder or Al Harris Jr, maybe Lorenz Bryant or the biggest disappointment in Gamecock recruiting since Wesley Saunders; Shamiek Blackshear. he was a real stinkhole off the field, probably explains why someone capped his arse tbh. Expected so much out of him but got zilcho, and god help us if this five star kid we got coming in from TL Hanna turns out the same. Probably not though, as I trust Muschamp/TRob’s evaluations enough over Whoopie Ward any day.

Zacch Pickens? Oh no. As big as Zacch is his mama will beat that boy's arse if he acts out like that. She does not put up with crap like that. I think that had a lot to do with why she preferred Carolina over his other options. Because she knows Muschamp won't put up with it, either.

When we expanded I was excited to add Sout Carolna. I grew attracted to them when they had George Rogers and the Red Ant defense, showing my age! I especially liked them stealing Paul Dietzal from LSU in 1959 (I was only 4 but I still remember how mad my Dad was)! Stuck LSU with Cholly Mac for a decade!

Fire Ant defense but I knew what you meant. Yeah, the days of Black Magic are still hallowed times around here and always will be. George is always around the program and got his act together a long time ago. He's a great, great guy and damn does he love his Gamecocks.

We were soooooo close to winning a national championship in '84. Ranked #2 in the nation...then did the most Carolina thing ever and lost to Navy. We still refer to Coach Morrison as "The Man in Black." Muschamp seems to have decided to take a page out of Coach Morrison's book because he wears all black on gameday just like Morrison did. Maybe he'll reignite some of that old Black Magic. One can hope.

He seems to be doing pretty good at Cal Berkeley.

I assume you mean off the field, because McElwain is just as terrible of an athlete at Cal as he was at South Carolina.

Glad to hear that. From a cultural standpoint, South Carolina is an SEC state. The state itself has much more in common with GA, AL, MS and LA than it does NC and VA. Not to mention college football is king here, and both South Carolina and Clemson have rabid football fanbases.

No and far from it. They have had some really good teams and not just under Spurrier

you have a very liberal use of the word some. if you would have said "few", i could go along with your statement.even during their "streak", they were the better team for 3 of those wins.
