I doubt he lived in downtown Seattle. Which is no different than any good sized US city in the year 2024. Is what it is. But all you have to do is drive a short distance from Seattle and you’ll find some of the most beautiful natural terrain you’ll ever see, some of the nicest people you’ll ever meet, some of the best beer, cider and wine you’ll ever drink and some of the best food (especially seafood) you’ll ever eat. He’ll find the same in the South. It’s not like they’re completely different planets.
