Oh, you were serious.

I'm serious that Saban sits on leads and it came back to bite us in the arse this one instance, yes. The same thing almost happened in the Georgia blackout game. We went conservative against Michigan last weekend and didn't do shite in the second half. It's just what Saban does...get a lead and get the game over with.

What does that have to do with Saban getting conservative? It's okay to say Saban has a fault or two you guys.

Bitching about his demeanor and his coaching strategy is assinine when he's footing a .8888888 % record the last 4 yrs and is in the drivers seat for this season right now, as young as it is.

He has little to no basis to make that argument though. Maybe if there was some proof that our 2010 team lost 3 games because of Saban's coaching methods, instead of the obvious reasons of inexpeience in or secondary, injuries, and an underperforming Oline. And keep in mind that this thread was started because Monticello thought that it was wrong that Saban pointed out that our players had a bad practice.

I was mostly of the opinion that we lost 3 games in 2010 because of extensive injuries to our best players. Our best 5-6 players were all playing at around 70-80% all year. A team can handle that if its spread over the talent pool, but when you are talking about all the best players playing at below par, thats a big difference.

Once they were able to sit a month and get healed up from their nagging bullshite, they pushed MSU's shite in. And they were 1 tie-breaker away from a big 10 title.

He's a great coach. We win most every game. Saban gets big leads and goes conservative. All three things are facts. It is what it is.

This is also how we have players come in and replace all americans with little to no dropoff because they got PLENTY of play time the year before.

And none of them are negative, as some want to make them out to be.

Going conservative is only a negative in the rare instance that it bites us in the arse It does make some second halves painful to watch though.

I will agree that sometimes Saban gets too conservative, but that isnt really what this thread is about.

Some of our fans are unbelievable. Saban brought Bama back from the dead, has won 2 of the last 3 national titles, and currently has Bama ranked #1, again.

And people still find a way to bitch.

Watching Saban's slow descent into madness is especially poignant for we Tiger fans.

I don't consider it a fault. I like that he goes conservative and the results he produces with that philosophy.

Painful to watch and bad football don't always go together. Running the ball with a big lead, wears down defenses, controls the clock and keeps defenses off the field. I'll take ugly wins every week.

2011 rushing stats

1st qtr 103 rushes for 422 yds
2nd qtr 126 rushes for 516 yds
3rd qtr 117 rushes for 744 yds
4th qtr 161 rushes for 1111 yds

Bama had a total of 865 plays from scrimmage last yr. 507 were rushing plays, and 278 were in the 2nd half. That's 21 rushing plays on average in teh 2nd half. When you can run the ball, and eat clock, you keep the other team off the field and keep your defense fresh. Smart football. Winning football. Bama football.

Bro that IB could have easily been 35-0 at halftime had Ingram and Richardson not fumbled and dropped passes, respectively. Barron saw that pass coming from a mile away and if not for a torn muscle that would have been a pick. Surely none of that is Saban's fault.

As far as Georgia, Georgia scored two touchdowns with 4:00 left and still lost by 10. That game was never in doubt.

And being up by 31 points against Michigan, what would you have done? Start throwing bombs?

More than whatever the score difference was with the opposing team.

Any other stat is irrelevant.

I don't have that info. Better question, would be what is the other teams scoring totals for each quarter. They can't score, if they're not on the field.

But it wasn't and we lost.

Run our actual offense. Use the same game plan we had in the first quarter.
