Yes he will

Based on what? Ken Anderson and Boomer Esiason aren’t in and they both have MVPs. There’s nothing to suggest the voters will like him enough to put him in.

Based on him being top 5 in yards and and top 5 in TDs, yea it’s wishy washy with the way passing stats are today, but he’ll get the votes
not first ballot but he’ll get in

I can’t say for certain he won’t be in but I highly doubt it. There are QBs that were highly ranked in passing stats at the time of their retirements but still didn’t get in. Same thing will happen to River’s spot on the lists as the years go by. And unlike these other QBs, his numbers will be surpassed a lot quicker.

One thing to note, every modern player in the HOF has made at least one 2nd team All Pro except Aikman. But he (will apply to Eli Manning at some point) have multiple SB wins. Rivers doesn’t have that nor are his accolades good enough to make up for it.

Living in the HOF city of Canton ohio my whole life i will say YES ,Rivers is a HOF 'er . I really think its just on his longevity . In recent years the players getting into the HOF have become wattered down . Its like the "Hall of very Good " now not the Hall of Fame .I meen Jerome Bettis avg less than 4 yds a carry in his career , and never looked like a hof 'er to me ... Rivers has amassed alot of yds passing but, again, never really looked like a true hall of famer to me ... I highly doubt he will get in on first ballot like manning will but he is 99% in i would say

Of the two you mentioned neither finished their careers in the top 5

I agree he doesn’t have any accolades
Just feels different and that he gets voted in

They didn’t (Anderson was 7th) but they both had better accolades because they had MVPs. Something he doesn’t have. But guys like Jim Hart and John Hadl also finished their careers top 5 in passing while also not having an MVP or SB.

I’m not sure where you’re getting this feel from. The media has never viewed him consistently among the elite QBs in the league. Outside maybe like 2 years, he’s been viewed as one of the better QBs but a step below the best. More like a Hall of Very Good player.

And that’s what I think it’s become
And why he will get voted in
He was the face of a franchise in a time when the league is the most popular sport in the country, while finishing with top 5 stats

Marino is considered one of best QBs ever. He was also an 8x All Pro (0 for Rivers) and won an NFL MVP (0 for Rivers).

And those awards are basically popularity contests in the media. Since neither one of them has won anything of significance from a team standpoint, look at the side-by-side of their careers. It’s extremely similar.
