Yeah, he’s had more appearances in what you would call title/playoff scenarios in baseball than Les in football but if you scale the 2 appropriately that just means he’s 30% more likely to choke.

Get rid of him. He’s dragging the program down.

Paul has 4 SEC regular season titles and 6 more tournament titles. Les won the SEC twice. Paul also had to rebuild the program. Les did not.

He's not bringing the program down. But I very much expect him to retire in the next couple of years. He'll be in the top 10 in all-time wins by the end of the year more than likely. Hard to say he's the Les Miles of anything.

Very successful only one natty to show for it

Had a team with bregman and Nola that lost in Omaha
Runner up to Florida in 17

Needs a strong year this year!
My guess is he retires next 5 years

The first time I start a thread about Alabama’s baseball coach, please make sure it’s my last.

You think it’s obvious the winningest active college baseball coach is in over his head?

Mainieri has won 80% of his games against Bama so the answer to your question is, no.

No. CPM, despite all his frustrating traits, is an infinitely better coach than Les Miles. Say what you will about the program during his tenure, the man knows baseball through and through. He will make decisions in accordance with conventional baseball wisdom 95% of the time. Les couldn’t even call a timeout competently.

100% he needs to go for the good of the program. But we're winning right now with some heavy hitters so let's keep him until April when we start losing again. Then we can get rid of him. Unless we get to the super regionals, then keep him. Unless he loses that and doesn't make it to Omaha then of course we have got to get rid of him. But if we go to Omaha then of course, give him more time because other than Skip Bertman, he's the most successful coach in LSU baseball history. Unless he loses in Omaha. Then frick him, all we ever seem to do is make it to Omaha only to lose in embarrassing fashion.

Les was a dummy. Talent made Les successful. Paul is a really good coach and actually knows baseball.

He’s not stubborn about changing his approach or his philosophy to try and be more modern, or doing what needs to be done to win in college baseball in today’s game. It’s changed a lot over the past 15 years and Paul has made the necessary changes in order to keep up with the sport. May not show in national titles but it’s extremely hard to win a national title in today’s game.

Les never wanted to change and thought he could run 1970s type of shite and have success.

Lmao.!! Just another one of the ignorant LSU fans who think that firing PM will suddenly make our program successful again.
Saying That Nola and Bregman were on the ‘17 team is the dumbest frickkng post I have read by any LSU fan on any forum??
‘17 was actually one of PM’s best coaching jobs he’s ever done. That team honestly was not even nearly as talented as that Oregon state team we beat; that team should’ve never won that SEC tourney much less run the table in Omaha; only to lose to Florida because our pen was depleted and Poche threw one of his worst games in his career

Mainieri did a great job that year. Walker’s injury killed us.

Yes he did. Had Walker stayed healthy I have no
Doubt we roll Florida. We were so hot not only
In omaha but also leading up to the post season. I think we had like broken the win streak record. ThAt was the year of rally opossum if I’m not mistaken.

I think it was 2 different statements. I just copied them both and only responded to one. Point is that once you get to Omaha, everyone had great players.
