Easily. 30+ years of perpetual mediocrity followed by luckboxing Saban, backdooring their way into 2007 with his players and the generational fluke that was 2019 has created something abominable. Might be the most insecure fanbase across sports in general

The current era (2021 to present) - LSU is an above average SEC program.
We'll see if they continue to spend 25% more in roster salary than every non-Texas team in 2027 and beyond.... not sure how sustainable their current spend is.

To be perfectly honest I don’t think it is insecurity at all. I do feel many LSU fans have somehow or someway tied their own self-worth to LSU football. It’s strange as hell.
Maybe they are miserable personally or have just underachieved in personal life or careers.., I honestly have never seen such a large group sincerely brag and feel better about themselves when they have absolutely nothing to do with what happens on the field. Same stuff for LSU players in NFL. They are immensely proud as if they helped make it happen. Hilarious and pathetic simultaneously,

My belief system has always taught me that the team eventually takes on the HC's personality and traits. Watching "I'm Only Human" fishtail on taking on the SEC, even after the courts gave him what he wanted, was disconcerting. Then the melt job during the Ole Miss Post-presser was somewhat pathetic. After that feet-of-clay moment, I could see the players seeking out counsel and trying to get in touch with their inner selves.

Why can’t Texas seem to luckbox any championship? Even with the most resources arguably out of anyone. It should be easy for them to get at least 1 recently, right?

LSU and it is not close. They can’t ever say we will be good. They have to be the best ever and if you don’t agree you are scared. Strange bunch.
