Bowden, Croom, Meyer, Fulmer, Kiffin, Tuberville, Meyer..
Auburn tried to get rid of Tubs in 2003, oops Saban was at LSU then, so I guess he can take credit for that.
Bowden was 80 and had gone 7-6, 7-6, 9-4, 7-6 the 4 years before he was psuhed out/retired. I don't recall then playing Bama during that time.
Kiffin took the UT jobe after Saban was already at Bama and left after 1 year for USC. Considering they had gone 5-7 the year before he took over and he out played Bama at a Bama, why did he leave because of Saban again?
And Croom, really that' s because of Saban and the fact he had 4 losing seasons in 5 years? His one winning season included a win over Saban and Bama

You only have Meyer on there twice, maybe you should add him again.

Fulmer and Meyer
I believe LSU beat Florida the year Meyer retired and were the only other team at the time to have 2 BCSNC. I think Miles was the reason Meyer reitred. It wasn't his heart condition that forced him into the hospital, it wasn't his desire to actually pay attention to his family. It was only Miles that forced Meyer into his temporary retirement.
How about Fulmer...2007 he wins the east, and who beats him in the SECCG enroute to the NC? Les Miles. The next year he goes 5-7 and he retires. Bama was just getting relevant again in 2008, so no Saban didn't have anything to do with him getting tossed.
Stop pretending that Saban is a reason for coaches getting fired. Maybe at AU where the rivalry thing causes a different thought process, but it's assinine to think that a coach is fired after going 5-7 or retires after a 9-4 season because of one coach. I will believe Saban is the reason for someone getting fired if a coach goes 11-1 in the SEC, loses only to Bama and Saban, and didn't say or do something else that got him fired.
Lastly, Miles is 24-3 in the last 2 years. 2-2 vs Saban and if we win this year in BR (we will be favored most likely), Miles will have won 3 of the last 4. Miles isn't going anywhere especially not because of Saban.

FSU did play Bama in 2007.
FSU won.

Not at all, I am usually one of the first to point out that winning titles in college often are due to factors outside the coaches control. LSU got lucky in 2003 as well, look at the OM game that year or the fact USC lost in 3 OT's, hell if Hawaii had beaten Boise the last week, USC plays OU instead of LSU. Would Bama have been so hot to hire Saban if in 2003 he beat Texas in the Fiesta Bowl and finished #2? He has his team in position a lot, that's because he's a great coach, but if a couple of plays in games he wasn't even coaching in go the other way, he has 1 title instead of 3. Not a knock on him, but people don't realize how much outside of someone's control goes toward determining who wins championships. Great coaches always have their teams in contention.

lol, wut? He was canned in the middle of the 2008 season, they did not play Bama either 07 or 08. I assumed Boboby, because at least FSU and Bama are competing for the same level of recruits.

I think there's one coach that could be a better college HC than Nick Saban. He happens to be a HC in the NFL right now.
Les Miles is a good coach. Falling "victim" to "one coach" causing a decline is a flawed statement. Urban Meyer, Fulmer, Tuberville, etc., lost to more than just Saban at the end of their tenures. The problems were deeper.

cute, not as weak as they pic
Saban and Meyer win 2 BCS titles with a loss, Miles wins one with 12. Tuberville went undefeated and didn't get to even play for it. But you're right, luck plays no part.
If there was a playoff, it would be a different story.
BY the way, if Hitler allowed his generals to run the war, we might, or at least good chunks of Europe would be speaking German.

Jim Harbaugh. That's my opinion.
He built Stanford, yes, STANFORD, into a top 5 or 10 program. Who could have done that?
He also coached the 49ers, a team that really was below mediocre, to their first NFCCG in many years.
But don't worry, he'll never coach in the SEC. He may never coach college again.

its the same as Bama lucking their way into the championship this year. they had to have a ton of things happen for them to back into the title game. So what's your point?

Next year
I'm starting to think LSU can't pull it off again. You have to go back to the days when Eisenhower was President for the last one.
