The family’s lawyer will have a field day with:
- UGA athletic dept since driver was a staffer
- Was vehicle a university vehicle?
- Was university credit card used in strip club?
- Toppers will get hit too!
Just a bad situation all around.

It’s potentially massive news pertaining to a major SEC program. Again take it up with the Atlanta Journal Constitute.

Mom has already said she is not interested in any of that and no showed the NIL lawyers press conference.

I’m just confused how Georgia fans are so nonchalant about that Atlanta Journal Article. Pretty fricked up if you ask me.
The article about the 2 players involved in the horrible accident going to Toppers beforehand? Neither were driving. No idea if the driver and the other woman were there with them or perhaps they called them as those DD. What they were doing before the accident has zero relevance to the accident unless the driver was impaired. Tox reports, not yet available, will determine that. Car was a rental. All parties were friends.
Gator fan apparently hoping there is a UGA scandal so these tragic deaths will help their shitty program.

I understand the nature of SEC Rant and most of its all in good fun - needling other fanbases about on field losses, dumb mistakes, failures and the like. Even off-field embarrassments and unforced errors. I get it and participate in it as well.
But this thread is on another level. The two bodies have barely been put in the ground.
YES there are questions surrounding all of this
YES this is a tragedy that should have never happened.
Lots of questions to be answered and I have no doubt policies will be changed at UGA - I am sure there will be some type of payment to the families as well.
For now, why can’t we let this lie? - once it’s over, and all the facts are out (not just a rushed expose’ by the Atlanta rag known as the AJC) have a discussion on it - if UGA athletic department made mistakes, then I am sure a price will be paid.
Let it lie for now.

Even the Athens PD dept can’t make a toxicology report go away. I assur you the player’s family lawyer got one performed.

You dumb fricks think your players dont go to strip clubs and have arguments with baby mamas.....
This is tragedy, could have happened anywhere.

That may be what happened. UGA has a ride share for players out drinking- I am sure most schools and athletic departments have this. Kids drink in college.
My daughter isn’t an athlete and she goes to Georgia College in Milledgeville. The students themselves have a student led “Uber type” service as a way for college kids to get home when drinking and for other college kids to make money.
IF - and I have no idea and don’t claim to - but if that happened and the driver/employee wasn’t drinking - that COULD be what happened. Will know more later - or it could be the worst case scenario that many of you seem to be hoping for as some kind of stain on UGA.

I wasn’t aware it was illegal for college students to go to strip clubs.

Again this isn’t the SEC rant making conspiracy troll theories. This was an ARTICLE from a well respected LOCAL news agency. I don’t think it’s evil by anyone in here to simply ask questions.

No one questions football players going to strip clubs, you dimwits.
The AJC is questioning why two school employees, in vehicles rented by UGA. Are out driving around football players at 2:45am. That is what people are questioning. And they should be.
We all know rules don't matter anymore in college football . But, these are violations of UGA's own rules.
It's a terrible tragedy what happened here. But, you trolling shite talking UGA dipshits would be doing worse if this had happened at Tennessee, Auburn or Florida. So save all your holier than thou bullshite.

It is with a staffer. Was player 20?
Posted on 1/23/23 at 11:08 am to ChiGator
AJC isn’t well respected. It is a monopoly paper in a town with no competition.
It’s a rag.
It’s a rag.

Nah, he's evolving.
Spurrier once talked about how he liked catching UGA early in the season because there was always a couple players out due to legal problems.
Kirby just getting it out of the way earlier. Smart be smart.

The AJC article doesn’t say the vehicles were rented by UGA. It says they are “like vehicles rented by UGA”.
It’s still unclear to me who owned the vehicle or why the two staffers were there, the article does nothing to clear that up.
