Sumlin would be a fine choice, but Boom and Franklin deserve some consideration.

Boom or Sumlin followed by Freeze.

Sumlin easily gets it over Freeze in my opinion.

Dafuq is your bitchass talking about? How is asking the legitimate question of whether or not our coach is worthy of COY honors equal to Aggie fans claiming we won a MNC? Back to eating roadkill and fricking your sister, please.

Freeze has Ole Miss headed on the right track, but Sumlin could end up with 11 wins in his first year.

Coach of the Year candidates in SEC:
Muschamp - Florida was 7-6 last year....could be 11-1 this year
Sumlin - noone expected aTm to do this well, but that happens when you catch lightning in a bottle with a great QB. If he pulls the same type of record next year after losing a fair bit of OL and DL, I would think he would be a shoe-in.
Miles - LSU has played something ike 28 freshmen this year. They lost several starters and key players throughout the season and he somehow kept the train on track. (lost starting LT, CB/PR, OLB, OLB, RB, RT, RG) Plus a brand new QB.
Freeze - Ole Miss was a dumpster fire and he might get them bowl eligible. That in itself is a minor miracle.
These are probably the three most worthy candidates. If I had to choose, I would say Muschamp. I know they've gotten a fair bit of good fortune to be where they are, but 7-1 in SEC play and 9-1 with a probable 10-2 or 11-1 season isn't anything to take lightly. I am not sold on how good their team actually is. They remind me a lot of ND, but they win and that's a product of coaching.
If I ahd to rank them:
Muschamp, Sumlin, Freeze, Miles

After today I'm not sure how you can put Freeze up for contention and not consider Franklin. Freeze has definitely done a good job undoing the epic fail of the last two Nutt years, but Ole Miss might have just missed the boat on a bowl game.
Vandy meanwhile might get 8 wins this year before the bowl game. They haven't finished with 8 wins since 1982. If Vandy wins out they might actually finish the season 9-4 and RANKED. I went all the way back to 1945 and couldn't find a season with 9 or more wins, and they haven't finished ranked since 1948. This could literally be a season for the ages to Vanderbilt.
Would not be surprised or upset if Sumlin, Freeze, Richt, Franklin, or Muschamp get it assuming said winner finishes strong.

Not reading thread. Sumlin is a very good coach and deserves it.
