It's if you can win a championship with the offense you currently run.

It will take an elite QB recruit really paying off and over performing, but luckily Jimbo is getting a bat at that ball every cycle.

That Connor kid is getting a lot of hype around the state, we will see if he turns out special.

A bit presumptive re: King Mr. CoAg.....just saying. Lets not pull a Rivals: Mark GASWATERS / Texags: Billy LUCIFER / 247: Tarply "I wish I could sing like John Denver".....and try to instill our will on the offense. You're defending Fisher's offense....so let's defend it. Means possession ball while seeking the threat to push downhill when the defense bites.....He's looking for that weapon to sling the rock. Depends on the other positions around the QB and how to best achieve his objective.

If Jimbo's offense is "dated" why does it seem to be doing fairly well?

Football Outsiders (F+ and SP+)
2020 - 10th
2019 - 33rd
2018 - 10th

2019 was a step back, but 18 and 20 were top 10. And the results matched up. We finished 16th and 4th.

Might help to have a good QB at the controls of that offense. You guys are so ignorant you think this is electronic football or something where the scheme is the problem and solution every time. You have to have players too.

Exactly right. If Jimbo wanted to open up the offense and sling it around 40 times a game he would. You think someone with the kind of football mind Jimbo has couldn't do that? He's not paid to have the best offense. He's paid to win. And he chose to control the clock with the players he has. Between King, Stowers, and soon to be Weigman there is a serious influx of QB talent joining the roster. I think we'll see some changes happening soon.

FSU averaged over 500 yards & 50 points a game with an elite QB in 2013. Did he just forget how to coach after that?

Aggy doesn’t admit anything negative about aggy no matter how obvious it is. They are a sunshine pumping cult. They treat their school like a little league mom treats her kid. They do no wrong and even if they do they will still find a way to blame something else. This is the opposite with the rest of the SEC schools. A&M doesn’t fit in here at all and I couldn’t think of another P5 school other than prog shitholes like Cal that would be a worse fit.

Considering he left the program with a losing record and in shambles a few years later maybe he did. Also that was a completely different time in CFB and he hasn’t evolved one bit.

Mond was one of the highest ranked quarterbacks in his class.

Also, Jimbo didn't bring in a transfer to try to better the position apparently.

He didn’t need to. He built a top tier offense with a competent QB. I think we have guys in the system or about to be in the system that can take it to the next level.

Dude A&Ms offense was anything but top tier. Not awful but definitely not elite. Pretty average to below average when only comparing them to the top 10-15 teams in the country

You sure were banking on them getting it right when you said:

So high school rankings trump actual ability in your opinion? No wonder your takes are always shite.

He’s just giving a counter to Farmer posting recruiting rankings like they mean the guys will be elite. I watched King play in high school and he was extremely unimpressive. The opposing QB vastly outplayed him and is just a regular college student now.

If Mond was completely the problem, why didn't Jimbo bring in someone better?

That's his job after all.

The fact remains that Mond wasn’t a championship caliber QB or even close to it so Jimbo going 26-10 with him at the controls and a bad defense for 2 of those 3 seasons isn’t an indicator of his offense being the problem. The teams who threaten in today’s game have elite to upper 3rd quality QBs and Mond wasn’t one of those guys. Jimbo’s offense is fine hes finished 4th, 4th and 6th in the SEC in scoring with Mond since he’s been at ATM.
