Using your logic, Red Sox/Yankees isn't a rivalry.

The more even rivalry is the academics competition. The schools are similarly ranked in USNWR. Their freshman classes have similar avg ACTs and GPAs, though UA has a greater number and percentage of both the top and bottom performing entering freshmen students. UA has the image of the old money school but Auburn actually gets far more state funding due to its Vet, and Ag Schools. Both attract more out of state students than most other state flagships.

First let me answer the OP question. Yes
Now onto the AU posters that laugh at his Championship claims of 17. I agree that number can be legitimately debated.
Lets forget that and just look at the last 40 years, which is 90% or more of most of the posters lifetime on this board.
Bama has 8 undisputed Championships.
Auburn has 1
Does this make you feel more warm and fuzzy now? ??
