that's a bit of a stretch. that's like us saying it would make sense if the mark gottfried rumors were true since alleva was once at duke.

Naw, I was just saying it makes sense if Holgorsen is the guy given that Long was in Pittsburgh recently as was reported.
I don't think Holgorsen is a good fit at all PR-wise after the Petrino situation.

If true, just wow. I know it's a bad time to make a hire but every target either hasn't coached in college football since the early 90s or they've been passed over for jobs several times. Bud Foster hasn't been a hot name in 10 years. Solid coordinator but he's been there for almost 20 years.

Personally I think Foster stays at VT and takes over when Beamer retires which could be somewhat soon

i agree. i think beamer would like a title, but realizes he hasnt been close to one in over a decade and isnt likely to get the talent needed to win one anytime soon.

If it's Holgerson, you might have been better off keeping Petrino. That guy has baggage too.

frick it. I dont care if LSU DID fake injuries. I would. I'd have a system on which players would get "cramps" at which times. If it throws their offense out of rhythm thats their tough luck.

I think it is VT hiring Arkansas' AD, Jeff Long. He is a VT grad and VT's current AD is very sick and not expected to make it much longer. Bud Foster is a great D coordinator but will struggle at being a head coach... If Arkansas does hire Bud it will probably be a mistake. Bud Foster is not a good recruiter... he hates recruiting.
