RT's don't make the Pro-Bowl, but Andre Smith is regularly regarded as one of the best RT's in football.

Grob has single-handedly help prove how little bama fans know of the NFL

After being ranked as the No. 28 offensive tackle according to Pro Football Focus in '11, Andre Smith was listed as the league's best right tackle last season.

If he progresses into a pro-bowl level left guard instead of making the jump to OT, is this still a successful pick?

Yes. As long as he does good in his role, he isn't a bust.

How could Andre Smith be considered a bust? He's one of the better RTs in the NFL. Who cares if he never transitioned to LT.

You don't take guards that early. Unless they are going to be the second coming of Larry Allen, you just don't.

22nd highest paid Tackle in the NFL. Nice increase considering where he was heading. I would not consider him one of the best in the NFL.

That would just make him an even better pick. Transitions are hard to do in the league

He's the fifth highest paid RT in the NFL, with the second most guaranteed money. But by all means continue on.

That's fine if you don't, but you don't actually watch him play. He's graded out on PFF as one of the best RTs consistently.
