And will it be as quick for Battle as it was for Jacobs to make the call?

I feel like it's been said 100 times on this board, but Grant will be coaching Alabama next year. He's not getting fired.

They say "NO".

They would let Grant make it back to campus first as well.

Side not, maybe 200 Kentucky and Arkansas fans in the Georgia Dome to watch Mizzou and aTm play right now.

Seems like a good time for Battle to make his first real footstep at bama, no?

Could be a matter of how is contract was constructed when Bama made him one of the highest paid HCs in the SEC for beating Duke in the tourney.

He didn't ask my opinion Grant still has support from a lot of the big money guys as well, which certainly factors into the decision.

We are winning tonight so this is a moot point, but he's definitely coming back next year. We should be better next year and be better than just a bubble team.

He did that when he hired Kristy Curry. Hiring a coach who has taken a team to the national championship game was huge for a program that has been arguably one of the worst in the nation the last 10-12 years.

When was the last time that Auburn and Alabama were looking for a head coach at the same time in one of the big 3 sports?

I assume that is a womens sport.

When Grant was hired at Bama, Chizik was hired at Auburn the same year.

I meant in the same sport by saying the same time. Sorry, I guess I wasn't being clear.

That was a damn good hire. The Bama ladies were one game from .500 in SEC play this year which is the first time since 2001

It would not be in football.

Maybe baseball.

That is the closest I can think of.

I think I read that this was Alabama's worst record in 20+ years or something though. Can't remember the stat EXACTLY but it's pretty clear this has been an unusual shittastic year for them.
Surely Grant's seat has got to be very warm...

Damn...you weren't lying...your women team hasn't made the NCAA tourney since 98-99 season.

That is because Grant set up a retarded schedule for what he had returning.

If he gets another year, it is likely the AD had a hand in setting up that schedule which had Bama behind the 8 ball from the opening tip of the season.
