For one Texas talent is overrated
Compared to whatever talent Tennessee is getting, I think Texas talent is doing alright.
No matter how bad Texas has been. I can always say to myself “At least we aren’t Tennessee”

Is Georgia the most underachieving program of all time?

Explain how this pertains to 1892-1979, and further reveal your idiocy.

We don't have the resources Georgia does. Our in state talent isn't at the level of Georgia. Why deflect such a obvious elephant in the room?
That's a dumb take. Right now Tennessee has commits from 6 players from Georgia. We have commits from 5 players from Georgia. You have more of that Georgia talent than we do.

As Tennessee fans we can't say a word. With our money and resources? To field the product they have fielded for the past 15 years.
Simply because they wanted to hire coaches on the cheap and let people like Jimmy Haslam have too much control.

Sorry but that's just not true. For one, Notre Dame does have multiple national titles. Secondly, Notre Dame faces huge obstacles recruiting wise considering their academic prowess.

Historically, yes, UGA has underachieved given available resources and in-state talent.
Historically.
What Kirby is doing now should be the norm.
And now it is.
Who's living in the motherfricking past now, bitch?

Georgia is going to take Tennessee behind the barn and beat them like a red headed step child
Sure they may do that. But that won't excuse them for being underachievers.

By your logic, UF should have way more national championships since FSU and Miami weren't exactly national powers until the 80's in a state filled with talent. Same for UCLA. Located in a hotbed of talent with tons of money and yet they have nothing to show for it.
Everything doesn't go our way. Are you dumb enough to think state lines keep people from playing for out of state schools? Clemson, FSU, UF, AU, Bama, Tennessee, USCe are all within a short distance of the state. Most of the talent is coming out of metro Atlanta where a majority of people are transplants or children of transplants with no allegiance to UGA.

Mythical national titles. They haven't won one in the playoff/ BSC era.

Yes, UGA has suffered for many years with poor or inconsistent coaching, bad personnel management, "unlucky" breaks, and the simple fact that we play in the hardest conference in the nation to dominate.
Even with all that said, CKS has had us in a competitive place for nearly his entire tenure at UGA. His great recruiting combined with the practices that he learned from Saban that creates and sustains great teams has led to success recently, and there is no indication that it will stop any time soon.
I don't know why you care so much about why UGA has struggled historically when we're dominant now, at least over most teams.

They probably were the most underachieving until last year. They have a championship in the modern era and before winning it all last year they routinely have been in the hunt the last 20 years.
Plus if Kirby wins another one, which he may given their recruiting, then the jokes kind of run out lol. Sucks, I hate UGA, it’s been a good time laughing at them but I mean, a program winning and competing for championships year in and year out can hardly be called underachieving. Also, this is hilarious coming from a TN fan

Yes, they are but they are poised to rectify that. Hopefully they don't.

This only helps recruiting wise as you can get the states top recruits with no competition in state.
I have ALWAYS said I think being the only dog in a state actually hurts you. You don't have that school right down the road that is constantly, constantly pushing you. You lose touch with whats going on outside your state when no one else is there.
Hell, In basketball UNC and Duke are what 10 miles apart?
They've both been pretty successful and you know why. Because they are living, working side by side and you are fiercly motivated by that. Miami, Florida st and Florida were all top 8 teams in the same decade.
Having an in state competitor drives you and losing THAT game gets you fired quicker than any.
I just don't buy the only team in the state thing. I think its actually a hinderance.
Look at the most successful programs in football and basketball
Football
Bama
USC
Oklahoma
Michigan
Why isn't Illinois any good. A HUGE state all to themselves. Minnesota, a state all to themselves. Where's Colorado? Didn't even mention Nebraska. Rutgers, Large population base of New Jersey all to themselves with tons of cash.
Basketball
UNC
Duke
UK
They've all got that OTHER school right down the road.
