I still think Wooden is better but you could make the argument Geno is better.

Career record is 1,250-165
NCAA tournament record alone is 143-24
12 national championships

He is the GOAT women’s coach. Wooden for the men.

The lack of parity in women's college basketball is the only thing that would make him #2.

It is a fair comparison. They each benefit from a very top heavy product. MBB in the 60's and early 70's didn't have but 8-10 teams each year that had a prayer of winning a NC, same with the current women's game.

For most of Geno's tenure it hasn't been 8-10 teams, it's been 2-4. If he can do a 3 year run like he's done in the past, I'd say he's #1.

Geno wasn’t and isn’t the best coach on UCONN’s campus. Jim Calhoun and Hurley are superior.

Even with USCe and LSU emerging as powers, it’s still shocking to me they went so long since their last title

Geno’s better.

John Wooden was head coach at UCLA for 15 years and never sniffed an Elite Eight or Final Four. Then… Sam Gilbert arrived on the scene in 1963. Papa Sam started buying the best talent in the country and all of a sudden UCLA transformed into the greatest dynasty in college basketball.

Sam Gilbert deserves far more credit for UCLA’s success than John Wooden.

Talent got dispersed, Geno had some misevaluations, and had Della Donne stuck around he would’ve won a few more.

ucla won ten ncaa championships with wooden coaching so i guess he did sniff some elite 8's and final fours.

You can't compare men's and women's sports. Just like you could not compare Pistol Pete and Caitlin Clark.
