First, we all wish coach well in his battle with Parkinson's so this is more about his time at Georgia
Second, Cal has won a Natty but that was at least a decade ago
We joke about Richt losing control but has Cal now entered that territory?

Jimbo is a better comparison. Caught lightning in a bottle once and otherwise known as an underachiever. And both are protected by some of the most insane contracts ever.

I made this very comparison on here last night. Cal is Richt, but had enough one year to win it all.

Has he lost control of something?

Cal has a title.
And more talent year in and year out than Richt.

I don't know, Cal took UMass to the Final Four, Took Memphis to the title game and may have won a second title the year that they cancelled the tournament.
He has 11 elite 8 appearances, 6 Final Four appearances, 3 Title game appearances and a Championship.
He's lost some steam recently, but that's about as consistent as you'll find in basketball.
Jimbo has never sniffed a second shot at a title game.

No. Cal had major success early at Kentucky.

Mark never sucked this bad.

I don't think there's any comparison whatsoever between the 2.
-Richt is universally beloved even by a good many rivals. Nobody likes Cal
-One of Richt's biggest shortcomings was not being able to recruit with the big dawgs nationally, that's all Cal is known for
-Cal built his entire program on 1-and-dones, which there really isn't an apples to apples comparison for. Richt ceertainly didn't have an equivalent number of 3-and-done guys I don't think
-Cal won a national title richt did not
-Richt did things the "right way", at least as much as a high major SEC coach could. LOL at that comparison with cal
I mean really the only comparison you can kinda make is "they probably shoudl have won more than they did/have" but you could make that comparison between thousands of dudes

I can’t recall any Kentucky basketball players going on any crime sprees under Cal’s watch

UGA fans actually believe that?
He always had the rep of a huge douche, with that megachurch youth pastor persona of his
