I'll agree with most of these, however i think PSU is more of a storied program now than an elite program. I know they have Joe Pa, but they really haven't been that good for a while, or at least up to the standards I put for Elite programs. Same for Nebraska. Alabama has definitely come back into elite status beyond just storied status. Notre Dame is definitely not Elite anymore. Throw LSU in there because they really have been in SEC west contention almost every year. Is Auburn there yet? no i wouldn't say so, the 90's kinda fricked us.

Born in 1985 Mr Garrison. The benefit of that is the internet and information age. Thus go do some homework on LSU Football History. Try Stassen, cfbdatawarehouse,etc..
Whole lotta living and football went on before 1985 rolled around!
#9 alltime..gotta be elite? https://cfbdatawarehouse.com/data/rankings
P.S. Aubie #17..not too shabby!

No they aren't. Since they've joined the Big 10, they've declined into a program that can really only compete for the title in about 1 of 3 seasons.

You're a dumbass if you don't put Texas among the elite programs. There's no better job in the country than Texas. shite, I could coach there and win.

2008 = 2-6 in the Big Ten
2009 = 1-7 in the Big Ten
2010 = 3-3 in the Big Ten
They better wake up fast!

I tend to think 2 BCS titles put us in the discussion. How 'bout yall?

You're looking at records, I'm looking at potential. Penn State has everything you need to win a championship. Joe Pa should have retired 15 years ago.

Recruiting is as easy as can be, there. The fact that Brown has 2 conference titles in his tenure there shows he's very overrated.

In that case, Miami should probably be on the list.

They lack an elite fanbase. Have you seen their attendance?

cant be considered elite anymore imo. When you play the schedule they do and have the set up into the BCS etc. and still cant win then youre just not elite anymore imo.
I would say the opposite, even though Notre Dame hasn't done CRAP in a very long time...they still have a unique road to a BCS bowl, have their own network tie-in, and get talked about on every sports show almost every day even without Lou Holtz being a host all with a barely .500 record year in and year out. If that doesn't show how "elite" they are, nothing does.
Now, if they keep up being ~.500 for another ten years then they will slowly fade into the dark and just become irrelevant.

potential does not make you an elite program. Its what your program does and how consistently you can do it against the best competition. Miami and FSU are not elite programs right now because they can't achieve it.

No, if it were not for the Iron bowl every year Auburn would be Tulane. Alabama is the only reason anyone knows Auburn has a football team.

Just curious, 2 BCS national championships in the last 7 years? But LSU is not and elite program?
1 and a half titles and the "one" is a joke.
