I used the SOS rankings, and almost every one of them had OSU over Bama.
Therefore, because everyone doesn't play everyone, in fact we don't even approach a modicum of the same universe of everyone playing everyone, there is no reliable metric to determine SOS. And I say this knowing there are reputable rankings that have Bama with a very high (number one, even) SOS in 2011.

on a more serious note.... How can yo bring this up when Alabama's run is, for all intents and purposes, still in process. Anything can happen. For some mystifying reason Alabama could have 6 losses next year... or it they could go on a 5 year winning streak, eclipsing the Oklahoma run of the 50s, all we can do is speculate.

Seriously, I think you have brain damage.
But, I give you credit for making the time fly by this afternoon.
Don't they teach statistics at Alabama?? LSU went 9-0 in the SEC in 2011, so that makes LSU more dominant in the SEC based on winning % than the 10+ years of OU winning Big XII championships the last decade...
seriously?

I am looking at things objectively; OSU played more good teams than Bama did based on record LINK / SOS OSU was much higher based on almost every single poll
What did the non biased NCAA poll conclude

very true
Or Saban could go on to win 7 NCs and multiple SEC championships, which no one could argue with...

You analogies as to 2011 Alabama and 2012 Florida are based on logical fallacies because of who Alabama jumped vs. who Florida would have jumped
they were both based on the perception of voters in polls...
Maybe I'm wrong, but Florida would have made a 4-team playoff??

Bama was the best in 2011, but shouldn't have played for the title
No, the team who lost to a cupcake with a losing record on the year should have played. For myriad reasons including, but not limited to:
1) There was an airplane crash, and the team was clearly grieving, so the loss doesn't count.
2) They had a better SOS.
3) Alabama already had their chance, but they lost to LSU, so someone else deserves a chance.
4) Alabama didn't play in their conference championship game.
...and the most honest (and least-often heard reason):
5) Because, seriously. frick Bammer. I just hate those guys.

As far as I know, that's incorrect...I don't think the BCS Championship counts on a conference record lol
its moot anyways as I'm pretty sure that SEC Championship game that LSU won wasn't a hoax...lol

Wouldn't you need to dominate your conference to be considered a dynasty?
2 SEC Championships in the last 5 years doesn't appear to be any kind of dynasty....not even a mini one.

Alabama jumped a conference champion who was not in the same conference champion.
Florida would have jumped their own conference champion who by being the conference champion is deemed better than any other team in the conference.
Had for examples sake, LSU had one loss in 2011, Alabama could not have jumped them due to the fact that they were the best in the conference. And Florida would have been perfectly capable of jumping any non-sec champion team in 2012.

If 35-5 isnt dominating a conference, nothing is.

you were there 5 years ago and lost to Florida, that's why I went back that far.
I could go back further if you like.
