If Okie St. decides to stop playing Oklahoma (which would be suicide for them but people make stupid decisions when they are pissed off) than that clears the boards for LSU vs Oklahoma to be the rivalry weekend game which would be a ratings bonanza. Nationally you'd have to think it would dwarf whatever ratings Oklahoma vs Okie Lite gets.

The real issue for LSU is you haven't had a true rival since Tulane was a good program. You have history with A&M. You have history with Bama. You have history with Ole Miss. You have history with Florida. You have history with Auburn. None of those schools would consider you their primary rival though. For most you aren't even their 2nd rival. It's just not something LSU has in their culture the same way other schools do for a variety of reasons.
A&M and Texas are rivals. Our fight songs are about each other. They have a mascot named Bevo because we branded it 13-0 and they had to do a quick fix with a running iron. We have Bonfire and they have a Hex Rally in response. We are 90 miles apart and started playing in 1894. The links between the schools are endless.
Texas tries to act like OU is their real rival yet look at threads here. OU and Texas fans defend each other but you get regular threads here about how annoyed tRant is with A&M and Texas fans ruining threads with our hate.
For A&M in the near future it will be Texas as the main rival followed closely by LSU and Arkansas. We actually have more history with Arkansas and they freaking hate us as evidenced by the sig bets and vitriol when that game was played this year. Arkie also HATES Texas. The DFW area has a TON of Arkie folks.
A&M and LSU will always have somewhat of a rivalry because we overlap the same recruiting territory. Traditionally A&M has poached Louisiana and LSU has poached East Texas and Houston. In some years one school dominates the other. We have a lot of shared culture in terms of Ag and Engineering focused schools with a lot of folks in the oil business and the Houston area has a TON of LSU folks.
TLDR with Texas coming the LSU rivalry will take a backseat for A&M even if a lot of Aggies hate Texas so much they don't want to admit it. Same with Texas and OU.

We're each other's biggest rivals because the two teams have had a lot riding on the result of that game in the past. Texas A&M was honestly hurting our strength of schedule by the time they were finished in the Big 12. As a student, that game in October was a much more enjoyable experience and bigger game than our respective late November match ups against our reject schools Texas a&m and Oklahoma State.
Sorry you're upset about it, but that's just the flat truth.
