Iron Bowl isn't even the sec's best rivalry

What's better? Don't say Palmetto Bowl. That's good, but not a conference rivalry.

Many Bama fans don't consider that a rivalry anymore. I do. UT hate amongst Bama fans probably peaked in the early 2000s with the animus towards Fulmer. The thing about that one is that historically Bama and UT haven't both been very good at the same time. Several long winning streaks in that series. Kind of detracts from the rivalry when the teams just trade decade long arse kickings.

Is that why the last FIVE winners of this game have gone on to play for the NATIONAL championship? And four of the last five winners have won the NATIONAL championship? I'm not here to proclaim the IB as the best rivalry in all of sports but to say this game doesn't have national implications is just ignoring the facts.

I didn't say the game didn't have national implications. I said from a national perspective it's not the biggest rivalry in sport

Words mean something. Read closer. You and I are actually agreeing. You're just being too defensive to see it.

No one cares for that who isn't Irish. That rivalry begins and ends there.

Real Madrid vs Barcelona are two of the biggest fanbase with a heated rivalry that goes back more than half a century with political ties.
