i understand supporting your school, but guys, if you can't see by now that the Newtons are shady, you're absolutely oblivious to everything

Point is I don't think AU fans care. NC at all costs.

I assume Cecil used Kenny only because of his MSU connections and had an AU guy.

I believe you have assumed correctly!

Auburn's season should be done now. If Auburn paid the Cam Fee then their program is done.

"NCAA spokesperson Stacey Osburn told The Birmingham News by email that "the solicitation of cash or benefits by a prospective student-athlete or another individual on his or her behalf is not allowed under NCAA rules."

Sounds like Cam if fricked. And Auburn may be fricked too..which is a shame because I am not sure that the coaches at AU or the AD had any clue this was going on.

NCAA Division 1 Manual
12.3.1 General Rule. An individual shall be ineligible for participation in an intercollegiate sport if he or she
ever has agreed (orally or in writing) to be represented by an agent for the purpose of marketing his or her athletics
ability or reputation in that sport. Further, an agency contract not specifically limited in writing to a sport or
particular sports shall be deemed applicable to all sports, and the individual shall be ineligible to participate in
any sport.

12.3.3 Athletics Scholarship Agent. Any individual, agency or organization that represents a prospective
student-athlete for compensation in placing the prospective student-athlete in a collegiate institution as a recipient
of institutional financial aid shall be considered an agent or organization marketing the individual’s athletics
ability or reputation.

Nice, I didn't feel like looking it up. one would think it wouldn't be necessary to actually post the rule. Like I said, how anyone can think it would be "legal" is beyond me.

Hell, not only is it against NCAA rules, it is against federal law. The Newtons could go to prison for this.

It would seem:

A+B+C=D

A= Cecil wanted 180K from MSU

B= Cam says the money was too good at AU

D= Cam goes to AU

solve for C

I'd trade that for AU to be cleared in a heartbeat.

Tim Brando on WWL 870am stated yesterday that it was highly unlikely to happen fast enough, but if a player is deemed ineligible(during the season) then wins are forfeited not vacated. If the decision comes after the season then then wins a retroactively vacated?
