These things usually happen and rivalries, although ours was one-sided during the leather helmet days
Yep I was going to bring up the hex rally. That song is just another thing that makes this such a great rivalry. Ignore the young fans. This rivalry matters every bit as much as the OU rivalry. Not nationally but for this state hell yes.

they were still doing it as far as I know so I expect them to have one this year. This is our biggest rivalry weekend game since you guys left for the SEC.

You didn't ask me, but I know that I hated losing to the Aggies way more than I hated losing to the Sooners.. because I didn't know any sooners personally.. and I knew a shite ton of Aggies.. and so the water cooler talk for a fricking year sucked monkey balls..
But the biggest difference between the two games has been importance.
Texas and Texas A&M both were ranked 10 times from 1936 - 2011
Texas and Oklahoma both were ranked 11 times from 2000 - 2011
and 42 times total from 1936 - 2024

Hating someone and hating to lose to that someone are two different things
I don’t like to lose to LSU, but I absolutely hate to lose to the longhorns
Maybe I misread his post, but I thought he said he hated Texas A&M or the Aggies
I don’t hate longhorns, and I don’t hate the college that Gives me so much money, but I absolutely hate foe Aggies to lose a football game or any other sporting event to them

The TV ratings will be stupid for the game this year.. it's possible it tops 20 million.. there are a lot of people in Texas who don't even watch that much college football talking about the game..
This might force ESPN's hand to go to 9 games.. or a 3-5 schedule or something like that..

Agreed. There are some from both sides that actually hate the other.. but in my old age, that number is pretty low. Usually East Texas people on both sides of the fence.. those country boys like to scrap.

That's where I am. Don't hate aggies or the school Have friends and family that are aggie grads.

This is my first Texas vs Texas A&M game as an alumnus and I'm excited. I don't have any family that are Texas nor Texas A&M grads/fans. But I know the hate is there. I know if we lose this Saturday Ill be sick to my stomach if it is anything like how it feels when we lose to Oklahoma.

My parents are both Texas grads and they never talk about aggy.
In fact, they said they were glad when aggy left the Big 12 and said aggy was an embarrassment to the conference with their male cheer squad.
