Interesting. Out of this list, I would probably want Chip Kelly.

You just want him to imitate Saban at the pressers

Seriously though, he's been great a Wake Forest. Stats and rankings aren't crazy, but they are very balanced and have a good concept.

Funny enough, he was hired by Kane at South Alabama. So, he'd likely fit with the staff.

Ezell. He's an alum, has history with Wommack, and most importantly he does a 10/10 Saban impression.

He's worked most closely with Christobal when he was here and Major Applewhite. He didn't follow McElwain to Florida from Colorado State and came back to Bama to work under Christobal, then with Applewhite at South Alabama.

His power-spread scheme is pretty different from what McElwain ran and pretty similar to Applewhite's.

If Ezell can commit to a punishing run game, I'm in.

I just know he was with McElwain a few years, but he was in good company regardless. I think he would be a good hire.

You'd be happy with the system. They currently have an almost perfect 50/50 run pass balance. The run the ball 50.8% of the time. Their last game they ran for 220 yards against Cal.

That's sounds great but after hearing Deboers resounding adulation for Grubbs play calling, I'm afraid all this wishing is for nothing.

What? You don’t want a former Bama alum that has experience with the most successful assistants under Saban?

No I do not. Mcelwain coached when Bama had unreal talent on defense. Bama has talent deficiencies. Back in those days, they had one or more elite players in every position group.
They have maybe have one on offense and probably none on defense now. Especially the DLine. Nope.

He is going to come out and support his coaches, but Im willing to bet things are different behind the scenes.

Don't believe anything you hear in a press conference. You may get a nugget of truth here and there, but not the real story. I worked for PR and Advertising firms for a stretch; managing the message is all you do in those and keep the real conversations in-house.

Deboer isn't firing Grubb, our best shot is for USC to hire Deboer

If Greg Byrne calls DeBoer in and tells him either one coach or fourteen coaches are getting fired, DeBoer will fire Grubb.
