Total yards
Gerhart 1885 yards and 26 TD's after 321 touches
Ingram 1864 yards and 18 TD's after 279 touches
Ingram had to share with a team that got 2806 yds rushing on the season.
Gerhart had to share with a team that got 2692 yds rushing on the season.
This argument is basically coming down to which team you want to see have the Heisman winner on it. Most rivals here don't want Bama to get it, simply because it's Bama. Not because Gerhart is better than Ingram.

Ingram carried Alabama to several victories in the SEC and ultimately lead them to an undefeated season. Herhart carried his team to victory against a bunch of scrubs and still lost games.
Ingram is the better player, on a better team and therefore deserves it more.

I could give a crap about bama getting it. I just feel that TG was clearly the focus of the opposing teams week in and week out was rarely stopped. The same can be said about MI although I feel that bama DEFINITELY had more weapons at their disposal in the passing game to take some pressure off of Ingram. In no way will I be the slightest bit disappointed if MI gets it. Anybody who pulls against a classy kid just because he plays for a rival is pussy anyway.

Toby laughs at the people who think Ingram is better than him

They had 2602 yds passing, we had 2573 yds passing. The breakdowns are almost identical in total yardages passing and rushing for both teams. The only difference is he had 21 more yards on about 40 more touches. They were as balanced as we were.

Gerhart is also the ONLY REAL option on his team and teams lined up to stop him... Ingram had the luxury of having one of the nations best wideouts that defenses had to plan against as well. Also, do you really think there would have been THAT BIG a drop off if say Richardson would have been in Ingram's place this year...I dont
I wonder if you were among the group that said this for......... the first 9 weeks of the season when everyone was agreeing that McElroy was horrible and Ingram was our only offense?
And I agree, Richardson is better than Gerhart.
i guess this is the thread where everyone forsakes the SEC in order to make the case why an Alabama player shouldnt win it despite the board agreeing that Ingram probably won it in the SECCG.
Well, people wonder why we dont win heismans, its because the SEC gets cannibaly when Alabama gets close.

Season lows
Ingram 16 carries for 32 yds vs Auburn
Gerhart 17 carries for 82 yds vs Wake Forest

Not due to that Heisman like performance Ingram put up vs the CPAs

Then Gerhart cost his team a win with that reasoning.

you can try to find it if you want but I barely ever get on this board...I just found this thread interesting...I've actually been singing bama's praises all year and the fact that you beat the gators made my christmas

Ingram had 3 TD's against the then, #1 defense in the nation that had only given up 3 rushing TD's all season.
Ingram > Gerhart
I can do that too.

I also could give a shite about conference loyalty, I think its fricking retarded. I pull for the teams I like and root against those I dont. When it doesnt have an effect on LSU I usually pull for Bama because I respect Saban as a coach and a man. I simply think what Gerhart did with what he had to work with was more impressive that's all...I hope I'm wrong and Ingram wins though.

I've got no prob with this. It's the definitive Gerhart > Ingram that I find curious. Arguments can be made either way, imo. I'm interested in seeing how close this one is gonna be this year.
