I'm going with IU because I know their QB will not turn into a fruit cake once he goes pro.

After that the only thing surprising was that Miami kept it close

With even marginally better QB play, Miami could have pulled off the upset. The defensive line for Miami is scary. They’ve got talent at wideout and RB, but Beck faded under the bright lights.

6 games in IIRC, Marshall was outpacing Chase to set some sort of insane record for TD receptions in a season

I wish Marshall would have went somewhere besides Carolina. I still think he was the best of three. Too bad he faded.

Indiana should be very proud of this team and the way they caught fire in the playoffs

Outstanding season

16-0 may not be duplicated, need some breaks and stay pretty much injury free

Enjoy it because it's hard to replicate

and also, 38-3

actually 2025 Indiana vs 1995 Nebraska is a better comparison for "greatest team of all time". There is no question 95 nebraska was more dominant than 2019 LSU and are the goat.

Nebraska ‘95

Points Per Game: ~53.2 (576 total)

Points Allowed: ~14.5 per game

Avg. Margin of Victory: ~38.7 points

Never had a game closer than 14 points.

LSU ‘19

Points Per Game: ~48.4 (726 total)

Points Allowed: ~21.8 per game

Avg. Margin of Victory: ~26.6 points

Experienced a few closer games (e.g., 3-point win).

I think OP was agreeing with you? So why post the link to validate?

But yeah Jefferson was a low 3 star and nit even a top 200 receiver out of high school. He basically got an offer because both his brothers played at LSU. LSU was his only P4 offer.

Damn, talking about making the most out of an opportunity.

Good for him.

I don't see much info (if any) on his old 247 recruiting profile. Was he just lost in the mix and never had a shot of being evaluated?

It's not like he went to a small school, and his numbers were really good. Was it because he played both ways he didn't get properly evaluated?

It’s wild how ate up you are with LSU.
2019 defense had grant delpit, Derek stingley jr, Rashard Lawrence, and Jacob Phillips… only team ever to never trail a 4th quarter — by whose standards is that a bad defense

They weren't "bad", but their overall performance wasn't elite - even with star players on it.

They were 31st nationally in scoring defense and 31st in total defense.

As far as "never trailing" - that's at least as much on the offense. Scoring fast and often definitely meant the defense only needed a few stops to win.

You gave up 37 or more points 4 times that year; suffice it to say, if your offense had been even slightly less prolific (but still amazing), that team loses at least 3 games.

But it WAS that prolific, so they did. But not because of their defense.

Bingo. Our terrible texas team had over 500 yards of offense against that team.

Don’t forget Patrick Queen and K’lavon Chaisson. That defense was nasty.

Fair. Alabama 2020 comes closer to matching Nebraska's domination, but still not quite:

PPG: 48.5
PAPG: 19.4
Avg MOV: 29.1
# of games within less than 14: 2
# of 1-score games: 1

Georgia's 2022 season:
PPG: 41.1
PAPG: 14.3
Avg MOV: 26.8
# of games within less than 14: 3
# of 1-score games: 2

2025 Indiana:
PPG: 41.6
PAPG: 11.7
Avg MOV: 29.9
# of games within less than 14: 6
# of 1-score games: 4

Indiana had a bigger average MOV but also had more close games; they turned it up to 11 at the end of the season though so you could argue that they may have been the most dominant post-season team ever. Depends on the perspective on what you feel is most important.

I have so much respect and admiration for what Indiana accomplished… but that LSU team was next level!

Maybe it should be measured based on the NFL Hall of Famers that come out of each team
