That game also brought us this classic moment.
The full context of why Petrino was mad is because Miles kept throwing the ball late in the game in order to run up the score. Petrino was fricking pissed about it. The previous year, we mercy kneed LSU instead of punching it in late.

bullshite he could have survived. They had to fire his arse for unfair hiring practices. That’s what got him. I think they would have choked on the rest if it weren’t for that. Giving her the job he did was the one thing they couldn’t just hold their noses on.

He ended up being a slobbering drunken fool.

It's really hard to beat teams of that caliber twice in a season.
it's even harder when you basically run the same offensive scheme you did 5 weeks before that produced 9 pts.

Bielema was a drunk that would go off to Vegas instead of recruiting with his coaches (main reason Pittman left). He did give us a strong running game but it always comes back to Arkansas being at such a huge talent deficiency compared to most other SEC teams.

Man, to hell with LSU and their trash arrogant fans. Definitely should’ve ran up the score on them.

I wouldn't doubt it. Your D Line will have our O line pushed 5 yards into our backfield on most plays. Mercy kneeing this team is nothing to brag about.

His character, his reputation got him fired.
Stories and rumors of Petrino being rude and disrespectful to people of all walks of life was well known.
He had few allies.
Had he came clean, admit his mistakes instead of lying and trying to sweep it under the run then he would had a better chance of saving his job.
Other coaches have done worse and survived.
But when you're an arse to people like Petrino was then no one will show sympathy or give you another chance when you do wrong.

Bama would've played in the SEC title game, not Arkansas.

I ‘member, was at Buffalo Wild Wings of all meh places. I swear we got that lead and then an awesome pop on y’all defensively (actually might have been on a return so special teams - not sure) and I’m thinking boom and then yeah boom it all fell to shite for us.
We had a player die the Sunday before, I suck and can’t even remember his name at this second, so I always gave BP and the guys a pass- not saying we would have won but still a very rough short week.

Honestly they were probably the 3rd best team in the country that year.
After hanging on for dear life against 2-10 Ole Miss?

The exact opposite. He had Wisconsin absolutely rolling and in constant contention for rose bowls. And I mean real contention for rose bowls, not simply winning the west contention for rose bowls.

It is waaaaaay easier to win in the B1G West, where Wisconsin's biggest competition is either Iowa (ha ha) or Nebraska (hahahahahahahahahahaha), than in the early-to-mid-2010's SEC West. Both Saban and Miles were winning at that time with punishing ground games and smothering defenses, which was also Bielema's style. Bert was a decent coach but he was never going to beat Saban and Miles at their own game, especially when you consider he was at Arkansas while the other two were at LSU and Alabama. It was a doomed hire from the start.

Not only that but one of those Wisconsin teams went 8-6. They played in the B10 title game because both Ohio St and Pedo St weren't allowed to.

Dumb take. Highly ranked teams have close wins against bad teams all the time. Try again.
