His buyout is astronomical. He’s not getting fired for years.

He's locked in for the first 5 years of his contract unless the wheels fall off.

There is a difference between how fans feel and how our AD operates. Our AD will give BK at least 6 seasons, IMO. The payout before that is just too astronomical.

BK is a good enough program man for me to think we wont go less than 9-3 this year or the years going forward.

This is all assuming that no one does something really dirty, like an Alabama LB spearing Nussmeier and knocking him out for the season.

Well LSU did hire Drinkwitz's DC and DL coach away from him. Does that count as LSU being dirty?

No one gives a frick what your coach did at Washington just like no one cares what Kelly did at ND.

Kelly didn't really do anything at ND.

Kelly's leash is about $50M long.

That's true, our coach at least played for a natty

Not at LSU though.

In all honesty I would have thought he would have been on the hotseat by now and gone after this year if they didn't make the playoffs. Never in a million years would I thought LSU could/would somehow morph into Next Year U, but that's exactly what has happened.

Things change...

This type of run, 4 consecutive years of being "good but not great", is what put Miles in the shitter. Because back then, we'd been conditioned to expect more. Hell, the pitchforks were out after going 13-1 in 2011, because we didn't win it all.

The Orgeron run tempered that a bit. Sure, he gave us 15-0 in 2019, but then he gave us 5-5 and 6-7 the next two seasons. That's something a lot of people didn't thing could happen here anymore, they thought anyone could win here. After that, there's something to be said for being a stable 9-10 win program; just look what happened to Tennessee for over a decade. Look at Auburn and Florida now- they'd both kill to get to 9 wins.

Don't get me wrong, I do want more. But we need to build the program back up, to where our floor is 3, 4 losses. It appears to be getting there again.

Of course that sickly little midget is on a short leash.

BK has form a pretty good job of rebuilding and winning

The program was in really bad shape when he arrived

He has certainly done a much better job than Napier, Freeze and Riley.

He has also made some bad hires, but to his credit he has corrected them

He gets more flack than other coaches because he is unlikable

Not to mention 6 years left in a fully guaranteed contract north of $60M

That will buy a pretty lengthy leash

Billy Napier hasn't coach at a power of 4/5 and has less coaching experience than Kelly. Give me Billy Napier over Kelly.

4 or more losses, he’s gone. Boosters will raise the funds to buy him out.

That the spirit. Kelly would make sure LSU fans are going to be happy with losing 3 or 4 a year. I think Kiffin would get LSU to the playoffs regularly.

Never heard this term but it makes sense coming from a UGA fan. The Mark Richt era was brutal.

I think this is a great time in college football to find young coaches.

You assume that young coaches are good. However... BK will win a natty at LSU before DaBust does at bama.
