Did that in Alaska once, but with salmon... Some of them were pretty damn big... It's an interesting experience to fish with bear bells and supercharged mace on hand

My uncle hooked a shark that was bigger than the boat once. He fought it for almost an hour and almost had a heat stroke.

We used to go 30 miles or so off the coast of Destin every summer. Loved catching a few coolers full of red snapper!

I hooked a bull shark near the Everglades that we estimated at 500 lbs.
My stepdad got a real nice picture of the side of my foot after I pulled the shark off the bottom and held him alongside the boat for the fourth time.
