he gained 10 pounds in a month, he has probably gotten longer than taller 
I need to get him a bigger crate he is almost to big for this one and after friday he lost the chance of staying out by himself.

That's what sucks about puppies. They grow so fast. They aren't small for long. One thing good about them growing up is that they usually grow out of the destructive phase.

he was doing so well out by himself but it was like 2-3 hours at a time, friday night it was like 7 hours.

He was probably lonely. You may need to keep him in the crate until he gets older. 7 hours is a long time though.

We have a Boxer here. She was so sweet and controllable when she was small. That bitch is crazy now. I swear she can jump high enough to touch the ceiling fan now.
