LSU wins on 1/9/12 and a plus one game will be called for by the media to play "the Real NCG" LOL

1/9/12 game will not be the Game of the Century but the "Alabama Mulligan" game to me.

8 ranked opponents, 3 in the top three (including your team, at home), lsu beat every common opponent it shared with Alabama by more points save one (miss st), the SEC West, and the SEC championship. The list of things lsu has won this season will always be longer than Alabama's.

It's not meaningless. We will still enjoy it, but may take a a little time after Lee kneels halfway through the 4th to run out the clock before it starts to kick in. Probably the post game celebration, frat boys crying.....it will kick in.

Meh. I haven't really been that excited about football this year. I haven't missed a game, but the whole season has been kind of blah. I feel the same way about the championship game. No doubt, I will still make my game day spread. I will still have buddies over. I will still scream at the tv and change shirts and hats at least three times, but I just don't really feel that week long buildup like I used to.

Guess I have too much going on these days.

Yeah, you would think beating Bama would mean something but hell, it would be the third time in a row. Just don't get the enjoyment out of it as I used to.

The only reason to not be excited is because of the long wait. None of the bowl games so far have been remotely interesting so they don't help the wait either. It's as anxious as waiting that one bye week before the Super Bowl.

Play along!

Yeah, I will get more excited as it gets closer. The regular season game seemed more excited, but it will probably come next week after the holidays are gone.

I would rather play a conference champ who earned their way to the game... but. We have to play the Alabama St Champs instead... Well not really even the Alabama St champs. We are. We beat Bama and AU.

Anyway.. After LSU beats Bama soundly and Ok St pounds Standford, the BCS will make changes. This shite will never happen again. Amen!

wow you're such a pussy.

By scoring more points?

I have seen this perceived home field advantage mentioned numerous times in the past few weeks. Obviously (to some), if Alabama could not beat LSU in Bryant Denny, there is no way they could beat them on their second "home" field, but something was mentioned numerous times in the first game. Everyone knows that Bama audibles as much on defense as most teams audible on offense. Normally, you would like a crowd to make noise while you are on defense and be quiet while you are on offense. With Alabama, the noise the homecrowd generates while they are on defense can have an overall negative effect on the defenses ability to adjust the defense.

Regardless, neither of these teams give a frick about whether they are playing at home or away. It will make very little difference in how the game plays out.

I really agree with your point. I'd so much more look forward to playing a team from another conference. Some kind of champion, someone different that we don't know all that much about. This is basically just another conference game, against just another also ran that we've already beaten. I felt the same way during the CWS Championship game in 1997. Felt like just another conference game, and we'll bounce them just like we have all the others.

I agree with the bowl schedules. The matchups suck this year imo.
