So none of us have to go to work anymore, right?

Dude, I seriously wonder if you're legally considered mentally retarded. You might be the dumbest motherfricker that I've ever encountered.
All guidance departments in any school that I'm familiar with direct people to grants and loans to afford higher education. Hell, you don't even need to pass a credit check to get Pell Grants and Stafford Loans, among other things.
Anyone, regardless of their economic situation, can get financial aid today, no matter what their situation is.
You're so full of shite that it's pathetic.

The problems in education aren't the access to colleges, though it's killing younger people with debt.
The problems start a lot earlier.

Okay, check this shite.
I've been unemployed full time for 3 months now. In that time, I've applied for roughly 100+ jobs, and I've gotten call backs for interviews for maybe 5 of them. I currently have a part-time job where I work 10 hours a week, making 9.50 an hour.
I applied for Unemployment after my severance package officially ran out, yet I just found out (a full two months later) that I am not eligible for unemployment. I'm behind on bills, rent, and am seriously worried about what's going to happen next.
For everyone who says it's easy to go out and just get a job, it's not as easy as it is, since you're competing with a lot of people who are in the same situation as you are. It's frustrating to say the least.
For every mother fricker you hear about getting their "Obama Phones" and having Food Stamps and nice cars, there are people out there who are like me, struggling to get by in a very literal sense. It sucks. A lot. But I'd still rather live in this country than in any other country on the world.
All in all, I don't know what I'm ranting about right now, but frick bullshite. And frick people complaining about the bullshite.

Yeah well you still have to pass your classes for them to keep handing you money

Night RG
I'd say 85-90% of them take advantage of the system.
Educational limitations? Spare me the bullshite. They have the same opportunity that I did. Make good grades in HS and apply to college. Can't afford it? There's scholarships, loans and grants for that.
Medical limitations?
you have to be joking. What medical limitations?
They have a fair shot at life. Why should they work when they get a check and their kids get a check? The Govt pays for their housing, utilities and food. Some even have jobs and are paid under the table. Biggest bullshite ever? They get a tax refund for income that could have been earned, even though they didn't pay a single fricking cent into the collection pool.
Come hang out at my office for a day or two. You'll be singing a different tune, I promise.

Work manual labor and get into a technical school/community college. Serve in the military and get them to pay for your education. There are definitely jobs out there for people who don't have an education, and if you work hard, live in your wages, and save up you can save up to go to school and get yourself a better job. Heck, if you work hard enough a lot of jobs will pay you to take online classes so they can move you to a better position. This "poor people can't get jobs because they're poor" crap is a bunch of bull.

Poor people aren't the budget busters though, which is what makes the focus on them seem so misguided. It's healthcare costs (which Obamacare doesn't do anything to fix), unnecessary wars, our big social insurance programs. Blaming poor people is missing the issue.
Remove government involvement in healthcare. Let patients and doctors directly negotiate payments. Privatize social security. Reform welfare, again, since Barry has undone everything from the 90s. Stop playing world police in the Middle East and let those stupid heathens kill each other at their leisure.
Deficit slashed.

this competition creates a problem for poor people because more qualified people end up filling the positions

No but either way honestly as long as we keep putting career politicians in the White House we're fricked anyway
Posted on 11/6/12 at 11:47 pm to Lee County Tiger
As long as the house republicans keep him in check, then Obama can't do any damage.

frick that bullshite too.
I applied to be a gas station cashier, took an assessment test, and was told I wasn't qualified for that.
I guarantee you the person who got that job was not more qualified than I was for that job.

And this is one of the things that frustrates me. There are probably people out there not even trying to get jobs on unemployment and living better than you are.
Unemployment has a place, but is abused and misused too often. There are probably quite a few people on unemployment that are less deserving than you.
