Freeze would be a risky hire due to his repeated poor judgement

Freeze would be the perfect hire for them. He can stand out front and thump the bible while the boosters get in there and do their work. You just gotta hope there's not an obsessed rival reporter weeding through his phone records.

I think Lane will be receptive to AU

His agent will gladly listen to Auburn give him reasons that Ole Miss should give him a raise.

His agent has been bending over SEC schools for two decades, why should he stop now?

Maybe he can convince the Oxford braintrust to go all in on Kiff like he convinced TAMU with Jimbo.

Or Arky with the Pittboss.

Or Florida with Mullins.

Or AU with Gustav.

Or SC with Boom.

Or....

To the point where it's almost a foregone conclusion barring something really off the wall. How do you Aubies feel about that?

It's asinine, which means it's likely to happen.

Bruce had a barbecue. Freeze was paying prostitutes and apparently got in trouble again for harassment. On top of that, he's from that same school of thought that brought us Malzahn. I really wish Auburn would get off the smallball train of thought, but I guess the still think some high school or P5 wonderkid is going to solve all of our problems. Half the fanbase thinks Deion Sanders is our only hope. It's sad, but par for the course.

Don't Auburn have an AD that can actually get the job done the right way?

Lane makes 7.5 million, Auburn will not give him a Jimbo sized Guaranteed contract. Freeze makes 3 million, can pay players legally now and has found Jesus by coaching at a bible school. He is the betting favorite.

Last time the boosters got their way, we hired Pat Dye and Tuberville. They did not want Harsin, Chiz or Malzahn.

This may have already been mentioned, but AU needs to get a serious, no bullshite AD who can assess the program, tell the boosters to STFU for a bit, and let him hire the best possible candidate for AU.

If they don’t straighten out that mess at the top first, no coach worth his salt is going to want any piece of that place.
