Uga clearly wasn't on its current level in the urban years at uf.

UGA was preseason #1 in 2008, won a Sugar Bowl in 2007 (if I recall correctly?) and had Matthew Stafford, AJ Green, Knowsean Moreno, and some studs on defense.

Florida beat that preseason #1 UGA team, with Urban and Dan Mullen as the OC, 49-10.
They were ranked in the top 10 at the time that game was played.

And UGA wasn’t on its current level during the Urban years? I’d argue they were every bit as good then as y’all are now. What was accomplished last year that so far exceeds what UGA was doing in 2007/2008

2007 team was overrated, which led to uga being way overrated in preseason 2008. Neither close to 2017.

It's kind of funny because most of you Georia fans just started to watch football last year, it's gonna shock you but there were actually some really good teams.

Although you think the SEC West and the MWC is comparable so I feel like you're just full of shite and denying the obvious to save face once again.

If things are obvious, why is it always so hard for you to prove a point? Every time you try, it backfires. See you claiming Chubb and Sony gained 70% of our offensive yardage.

You obviously are too stupid to understand mockery. Also, those little upvote and downvote buttons can tell you when you're being retarded.

How so? In order for you to correctly claim I am digging a hole, you need to explain how I am wrong.

You take post Voting seriously, and Then you try to spin you making dumb points into a silly claim about me misunderstanding mockery. Now that's retarded, just like nearly everything you claim about uga.

yeah but didn't you guys have a cold blooded murderer on that team? that's unfair advantage and that whole season should be wiped from the record books. Not only did you guys have the wrath of god in Tebow but also the evil of the devil in hernandez. completely unfair

Is this a legitimate question? Our '07 team lost to a shite SC and team and got crushed by a less talented UT
team amd beat an overmatched Hawaii.Oh did I mention they
weren't the SEC or Rose Bowl champions and DIDN'T play in the NC game? Not even close to what we accomplished in '17.

The '08 team was overrated coming into the season because of their blowout Sugar Bowl victory. The team was completely un prepared vs Bama and also lost to an average GT team while giving 45 points and BTW didn't
win the SECC or Rose Bowl or play for the NC.

Neither of those teams had the consistency or overall talent as '17...not close.

Mullen gonna get spanked in Starkville.

and then since everyone knows he can't recruit the entire SEC, along with FSU, Miami and clemson gonna come in behind him and steal local recruits. He's gonna have to try and convince mississippi and albama 3 star recruits that we, and the bama schools (including troy and South alabama) don't want to come play for the gaturds. You guys are so screwed. The SEC just got a bunch of better coaches and all the new hires > mullen that is what you are missing

When Mullen was at Mississippi State, you guys thought he was a good to very good coach. Now a lot of you trash him. It just comes across to me as bitter.

Sorry to interrupt the UGA/UF fight. Carry on.

I knew Mullen wasn't a Championship coach after the 2013 season. That fact was reconfirmed in 2016. He will have a run at Florida before he gets run out of town. 10 or 11 win season is possible.

That's like saying Urban Meyer wasn't a Championship coach because he couldn't win a championship at Bowling Green.

I don't know why some (a small minority) think MSU should go .500 against teams like Alabama, Auburn and LSU who regularly outrecruit MSU based on prestige alone, and at a time when Ole Miss was cheating to boot.

You can't sell MSU. The last SEC Championship they won goes back to 1941 and you guys lost the only time you won the West 20 years ago. No recruit in these cycles was born the last time you guys were relevant in the West, and Hitler was in power the last time you guys won the SEC.

You have mediocre facilities, mediocre academics in a mediocre state in a mediocre city. It's a miracle that you guys got a ten win season with Mullen at the helm and managed to bowl every season outside of his first one. You've had 21 bowl games in the history of your program and Mullen is responsible for a third of them. Alabama is +62 wins on you, you guys are ahead of Kentucky by 1 win.

I hate to break it to you guys again, but MSU is a shitty school and Florida is fertile ground. He already had his best recruiting class ever and he came into a 4 - 7 season. Mullen's "failure" at MSU is more on MSU than it is on Mullen.

Most of what Straws said is spot on, however he is wrong about Miss State’s facilities, most (if not all) that were built under Scott Stricklin when he was the AD there.

So the facilities at Florida will be nicer than what the resources at Miss State we’re capable of & all of the prestige and tradition at Florida are far superior to Miss State. And now Florida has the coach who did the impossible, something nobody else had done there, win 8-10 games a year at a school with zero football tradition. I think you guys are jaded and blind if you think Mullen won’t be able to exceed his accomplishments from Miss State at Florida. And exceeding those accomplishments means SEC Championships. He’s already had a higher ranked recruiting class in his transition year than he had in any season in his entire tenure inStarkville. That should tell you everything you need to know about the “Mullen can’t recruit” myth. It’s not that Mullen can’t recruit, it’s that Mississippi state cant recruit.

Fake News...

#1. you said "you guys" instead of "ya'll" so how can anyone in the south take your seriously?

#2. a lot of state fans (like myself) were never fully on the Mullen bandwagon. The guy was a notorious choker that didn't prepare his teams.

There were some fans who didn't like him, but the majority of MSU fans were pretty happy with him and swore up and down that he would never leave State, only when he left when it was realized that Mullen wasn't that good.
